Thanks for sharing. Nice piece you have there. Modding a watch can be a double edge sword. Personally I think that it is never a good idea to do such a thing to an original and classic timepiece; sacrilege indeed. I think that for doing mods that it is best to do it from scratch. Purchase all the parts individually and build your own creations from scratch.
But what I like about the Islander homage to the SKX is that its specs are much better than the actual Seiko model. With a solid-sink bracelet, AR Sapphire Crystal, and luminous ceramic bezel insert.
I don't think they are imitations, but you make an interesting point. I guess we could expect Invicta to make homages of the SKX anytime. Still, if I wanted such I would go for Islander Watches' version of that Seiko diver. They are supposed to be better than the original.
