A lady complimented my watch
This is a bit of an unusual topic, but I have had ladies compliment me on my watch five times in the past 24 years.
Ladies(they are all Japanese) watches/comments
Lady A(colleague, 22 years old) Rolex Explorer, “It’s very stylish”.
Lady B(friend, about 30 years old) Omega Speedmaster 3570.50, “It’s very stylish”.
I think the above two ladies were simply luxury watch lovers. The below comments are all about my Timex Easy Reader T20501.
My wife “It looks great with what you are wearing.”
Lady C(shop clerk, mid 20’s) “It’s very stylish.”
Lady D(shop clerk, 19 years old) “It’s kawaii! (cute).”
I think my wife’s comments are most important, but I was also happy to hear from other ladies. I don’t know why Timex Easy Reader was popular, (maybe because of the Nato strap) but perhaps ladies feel better about watches that they can imagine themselves wearing as well. Or maybe they like watches that are appropriate in size and have a sense of simple elegance.
What do you think?
Japanese. Most of the time, I wear G-Shocks. I prefer watches without date window.

Come to think of it, half the watch compliments I've ever received from women (one out of two total) have been regarding a watch on a colorful NATO!
