maaan! the grey dial popped up litteraly hours after i ordered. i had actually ordered the white dial one (loved the lume effect on the white surface). my wife recommended i changed because most my vintage have a white/champagne dial and i didnt have a black dial one.
the grey just works. with a tan strap or blue strap. i can feel your pain mate. its a tough choice but honestly any color way and you can't go wrong with that reference. it looks superb! (have like 20% buyers remorse over not getting it). its just amazing for what it delivers!
late to this chat, but i pulled the trigger on this model and awaiting delivery. on paper this is the PERFECT watch for my purpose.
i have a GS which i am scared shitless of scratching.
i had an alpinist glacier which i moved on because it was too shiny and thick (13.3mm for a casual/dress),
i have 3 vintage watches which are not water resistant.
i love watches and wearing them day in day out. but of all the ones above, i cannot easily wear them at home and do chores, or walk out in the rain with the vintage.
this one is perfect on paper because its a looker, thin at less than 11mm, relatively compact, has a an accurate auto, and has a pretty decent lume.
my home/ errand/ dont care but love watch
a lot, and i mean a LOT of patience. my process is as follows:
search for a model or brand
open every related links and suggestions
shortlist the sellers (positive reviews, stock etc)
keep an eye out.
look only for condition (scratches are ok if minimal), most important is photos of movements. do all the holes have screws, does it look like there was water ingress at some point.
dial condition next.
some sellers from hungary, eastern europe, vietnam have good reviews and items. just keep looking at reviews. i usually go through the whole list to certify the seller.
one seller i recommend (bought the longines from him) is old_watch_anista (his insta handle) and you can find him on ebay. he has good stock and save him, one day one you like might pop up.
if i see something i'll dm you. (im always looking, you never know lol)
Now that you've graduated, say welcome to the most unproductive watch brand ever. You will never be focussed on work now. You'll keep staring, cleaning it, taking pictures, moving your wrists in the light for no reason, finding new reflections 🤪🤣
Amazing watch mate
