Vintage

Little update on the old timers...longines 1585 (1974), cal 6952, 28800, model from then conquest line, added to the collection.

Got a nice party trick, when crown pulled out, the seconds keeps ticking until reaching 12, then stops. Made back then to synchronise with radio time.

I do like a nice Longines especially a vintage one. The party trick is quite cool as well 🙂

Beautiful pieces. I'm looking for a vintage Longines. I've looked on Ebay and it's kinda hit or miss. I'm hoping to find something under $500. Would you have any ideas?

Good to know thanks for sharing.

That is a smart feature to sync up.

That's actually a pretty clever (and useful) trick

Nice vintages you got there!

a lot, and i mean a LOT of patience. my process is as follows:

  • search for a model or brand

  • open every related links and suggestions

  • shortlist the sellers (positive reviews, stock etc)

  • keep an eye out.

  • look only for condition (scratches are ok if minimal), most important is photos of movements. do all the holes have screws, does it look like there was water ingress at some point.

  • dial condition next.

  • some sellers from hungary, eastern europe, vietnam have good reviews and items. just keep looking at reviews. i usually go through the whole list to certify the seller.

one seller i recommend (bought the longines from him) is old_watch_anista (his insta handle) and you can find him on ebay. he has good stock and save him, one day one you like might pop up.

if i see something i'll dm you. (im always looking, you never know lol)
