Morning guys. Manually winding this oldies for my Sunday morning routine. Time to crunch those vintage gears. ๐
Do you have some kind of routine with your watches?

Thank you. ๐
You need a GMT! Itโs Saturday night, not Sunday morning! Haha!

Nice watches!
It's 10:30am here in Malaysia! ๐
These are my vintage manual wind collection. I do have the seiko navigator timer for my gmt but it's an automatic. Cheers mate.
I wind my watches every few days. Love the routine.
Great selection! That green strap with the Citizen is fantastic!
Wow, amazing collection! So much class. Particularly love the one on the right, and that green strap.
I don't think I have a routine โ yet.
My routine with mechanicals is to only wind them when necessary.

Thanks. That is a 1970s official issue citizen ATM which stands for Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (Malaysia armed forces).

Thank you. The one on the right is a Rego Chronostop.
Very very nice collection there! That's just the tip of the iceberg I bet, so far so beautiful.
I routinely postpone telling my wife about my latest watch purchase.

๐ totally agree!
That is a Takema (Raketa) Copernicus watch from the 80s. The design was inspired by the discoveries of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus.
It an amazing watch!
But why do you wind them? I mean, I don't run my car all the time either mate, all good but these mechanical movements do run if you wind them in 10 years if greased properly. Imagine having to wind over 100 movements a day, it maybe looks great if they all runs at the same time, but those fragile movements do wear and have a milage, maybe something to consider ๐ All good mate, have fun collecting! ๐๐ป
Lovely Longines btw.! ๐
Lovely collection.
I wind my vintage watches about every two to three months. I never approach a full wind up either. Weirdly I then store them by turning them180 degrees to their previous position. My probably cranky reason is that I feel it helps any lubrication to not gradually start to solidify in the same spot.
I guess it makes sense to me!
My watches roll in my morning routine is checking it every 2 minutes to see how much later I am to work that day as a run around and get ready ๐

Iโve read somewhere before that itโs good to wind them every so often and not let them sit for long periods of time so that the oils donโt dry out and breakdown causing more damage.
Good looking collection. I donโt have many routines except choosing my watch for the day. I try to wind all my watches once a month though.
Same.
Nice collection. You don't see many Longines in that style.
Haha - I do as well!
I try to wind my watches daily - at least a good portion of the collection that I may want to wear. It takes about 5-10 min.

Of course I take my car for a spin also. One thing, with the newest lubricants wich are synthetic oils this never happens ๐
Watch routines. 1) Always wipe off a watch after wearing with a Selvyt cloth. 2) Set by clock synced to the atomic clock signal 3) Preform "The Big Wind" once a month where all mechanical watches get wound up and let run. Running watches once a month is fine according to most watch people. 4) Coordinate your watch with your outfit. 5) Match your watch to what you will be doing (i.e., don't wear a diamond encrusted party watch to do yard work).
