Next watch advice.

Hello watch crunchers, going to graduate in Frankfurt, Germany soon so I am planning to buy myself one of these two as a graduation present. Picked these are they are made here in Frankfurt, which dial type though?

Leaning toward the one with the numbers as currently all my watches have no numbers.

I went for the 556A (above left) with the white seconds. I like the position of the date window and the Arabic numerals really enhance the ‘cockpit instrument’ feel that Sinn is famous for. Ultimately it’s personal choice and the 556 covers many bases.

My advice is to buy it on the bracelet. I bought mine on leather and now I want a bracelet it’s quite expensive and not that easy to source 👍

I think the 556i is more versatile, but it depends on what you want from the watch.

If the idea is to have something "special" rather than something "everyday", go with the 556a.

·

I agree with @KristianG. The 556i is a bit more versatile.

You can’t go wrong either way, though.

Congratulations on the graduation!

I have the 556a, but I kinda wish I went with the 556i rs with the red seconds hand.

556i for me.

·

I would prefer the left version with numbers. I think it plays much better with the dial surface and cancel the negative space.

·

Please choose the one without the numeral.

010

Love the position of the date window on the left one myself.

The 556I RS was definitely one of my best decisions this year. The date-position of the 556a is a bit strange for me.

·

I'd recommend the 556i, it's a lot more versatile in my opinion 👍

I went for the A RS because I liked the pop of colour. Ideally I’d have liked the glossier dial, Arabic numbers and the Red Seconds.

·

Having had both the “i” and “ib” models, I would go for the A this time. The i was a Bit too sterile for me and had a little too much negative space. I like the balance of the A model. Having said that, it’s a preference thing and they are all solid watches! The dial on the blue model was beautiful.

I bought the Sinn 556i (right) for a graduation gift to myself as well. I think it’s more versatile. But in the end it’s a matter of your personal taste.

I never had any doubt or problem on this watch the last two years. 👌

The applied indices on the blue are 😍😍

Have you seen them in person yet? I ordered the 556i but ended up returning it. They look great in pics but for some reason just lacked that special something in person for me. I’m picky tho. 😬

·

I have a 556i which I an happy with. It’s currently on a Sinn grey canvas strap which suits the watch and dresses it down nicely.

I do like the 556A RS though and have considered adding one at some point.

·

556.010 for sure! :) objectively more versitale and IMHO more attractive.

Couldn’t agree more. Red seconds hands adds just the right amount of punch to the dial.

·

I love both versions, but in case of the 556 I slightly prefer the version with the numerals as opposed to the 104, where I prefer the índices only version. Either way, they are just great watches and you can‘t go wrong regardless of the dial setup.

·

It depends if you wear more sporty or more elegant, the numeral are very rugged it is not very elegant, like the explorer seems more elegant but you can either way rock it for every occasion.

·

Left for me, I love numbers. Sinn hands are awesome 👌

·

I like the design with numbers - and without the "Automatic" text.

·

For me it's a simple choice. The 556a is the one. The RS is also nice but the plain monochromatic vibe off the all white is really striking. It's a special watch and you'll be happy with either. But deffo get it on the bracelet.

Which did you choose!?

Will buy when I finish my thesis in mid December

I've owned a standard 556 A since 2019. Love every bit of it. If I were to rebuy this watch now, would pick the RS 556 A.

the perfect one watch, I keep calling it the modern day 1016 Explorer

Yea, I have always dream of a 2000’s explorer but find it hard considering how good the Sinn is.
