What do you use your bezel for?

If you dive, that’s awesome… post a pic! But what else do you use your bezels for? I regularly time my espresso shots. The funky Zodiac with its quirky “30” is my favorite for this function!

I time cooking, meetings, and other boring daily events with my bezel.

Brew?

There was a time when I would time the start of my dive as a sort of backup to dive computers, but those days have long passed. I use it to time how long until my take out pizza is ready for pick up or other take out meals.

Does your bezel measure more than 60 minutes?

I’m measuring how long they’re taking to get ready for bed right now…and it’s 15 minutes and counting 💀

·

Mostly cooking though last year while I was on jury duty I timed how long the bailiff "rested his eyes" during one particularly monotonous portion of the proceedings.

·

I don't use dive bezels at all, but I do use GMT bezels to check CET before I join video meetings with colleagues from Germany or Italy.

👆this!!! Haha

·

How long I have been sitting in class for and when it should be ending

·

Can't say I've ever used my bezel for anything useful in 25+ years 🤣

·

I don't think I've turned a bezel on any of my divers for a good year or more.

·

I love this watch and can no longer find it anywhere! This is my dream retro diver

·

Use mine to time parking station arrival when there is a 3 hour free limit 🙂 in the Sydney shopping centre my wife and I go to occasionally:)

·

While cooking ! sorry :)

·

I often use a regular bezel... as a countdown bezel. The red triangle on my BB58 becomes "At that time we need to wrap up and move to the next topic." Especially in contexts when it's easy to glance at your watch and rude or disruptive to look at your phone.

·

For when a demolition shot is supposed to be going off when using time fuse.

How many minutes before I need to be somewhere for something to start.

How long a task has taken, so I know about when I need to move on.

The already mentioned coffee/egg/food ready.

When my parking meter is up.

For the next month, for timing my runs/parts of my workouts since the whole #1wc and I hate looking at my phone.

Edit:spelling

I believe it’s true design functionality is to protect the crystal!

·

A few weeks back I stood in for a friend of mine at a local blues jam as the jam master. Each set of jammers get to have 20min of stage time, so the dive time bezel came in handy that way.

·

I use mine to time play sessions with my golden retriever.

(and also hold my girlfriend accountable when she says she'll be ready in just "10 more minutes")

🤣

Timing stuff and junk

Apart from timing pasta and eggs, I have only one serious use of the bezel.

When I hike in the backcountry, especially on serious long days in mountains, I mark the "hour to give up and return". When the hour hand hits the mark, I need to turn around, no matter how close I am to the summit, and return to the shelter. Or I will not be able to make it back to shelter before sunset, which can be life threatening.
