Which Seamaster 300M should I get?

Would like some thoughts on your favorite Omegas, as I can't make up my mind which one to pull the trigger on. I would like to eventually get a Batman or Kermit (once hopefully Rolex hype wanes a bit) and also a Santos, and maybe one day a Speedmaster Snoopy. In the meantime, I'm searching for the right Omega to kick off the "higher end" of my collection. Would love something that wouldn't be made redundant by one of the Rolex subs and also shines on a rubber strap, so I would have a reason to wear them on different occasions. I'm usually dressed pretty casually in athleisure at work and at home and typically work on a laptop, so I prefer non-metal bracelets I'm also looking at the Aqua Terra Small Seconds, but I fear the style might be too versatile if that can be a bad thing :)

Omega's silver dials are out of this world good.  Pictures don't do them justice.

Agree! The only reason I haven't bought an Omega yet after so many years of looking at them is because I want like 6 different ones. Then there's the question of "silver-dialed 300M or Aqua Terra?" The problem is there's not many "wrong" choices

I think in theory the blacked out ones seem cooler. I’ve not tried them on though. But I have tried on the white one. The white one is just so beautiful and legible and I think it would offer the most long term bang for the buck.

·

They are all good, but I will always opt for a no date option if given the choice, which I did.

For me, CADB.

It’s a little bigger but it’s my choice out of your poll.

·

I said grab the white dial, and get a gray or black dial Aqua Terra! Then you can throw everything else out 😜

I think you put into words exactly what has been swirling through my head the past few days. I even went down the rabbit hole of researching the new Tudor Black Bay Black.

The blue and white dials are so classic. But the blacked out ones, especially the black black ref are potentially conversation starters. No matter if you love or hate them, I bet I'll eventually run across another Omega lover who will comment on my "good/bad" taste. That kind of quirk is what I enjoy about certain pieces that are completely unique to a brand, it's hard to mistake it for something else. And there's just a certain G Shock + blacked out Aventador vibe to the Black Black that I find amusing.

·

Ugh, I started out hating it, and agreed with Reddit that it looked like a bad, chipping spray paint job. Then I started watching some reviews about it and slowly but surely it grew on me. And now I kind of want it just because I know it might garner a strong reaction from other watch lovers

not a fan of the all black. It’s boring. And the all black murdered out everything phase is almost over, thank god..

thanks for the input! What are your thoughts on the Black Sedna version?

Is there one without that unnecessary and unsightly helium thingy?  If so, that's my pick.  Seriously, it's a shame they hurt such a great watch in that way.

·

Where I am now I’d pick black because it’s unique and has titanium. It would give my NTTD company.

what do you think of this Omega? obvi its quite more expensive at 13k usd but just to entertain the thought

watch is made of titanium, tantalum and sedna gold, LE of 2500 pieces celebrating 25th anniversay of the seamaster diver 300m. I've been to many Omega boutiques and ADs and this one is always sitting on the shelves, but this was the first luxury watch I ever tried on so it's special to me in that regard.

The black Sedna is superb, tried it a while ago and was so much better than the pictures.

my .02 is that its certainly more interesting than the black on black. Would have to see it in person. But it’s not going to be my watch, so the more important question is what speaks to you? Your watch collection should be a reflection of what you find beauty in and what moves you.

·

I gotta tell you, I'm really get drawn into the black ceramic sedna

I dont think so, kind of Omega's signature. They seem pretty consistent on including one, but for me I don't really notice it

The patina looks great in all kinds of lighting and I'm glad they went with the chain link (think that's what it's called?) bracelet instead. If I felt a stronger connection to the Bond movies, I would probably get it, but regardless it's a very cool watch

This one unfortunately probably isn't for me. I'm not really a fan of the default bracelet and the color scheme i think is a bit washed out, but might just be the photo. Will try to find in an AD to see for myself. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm a lot more relaxed with details than a lot of people on here, but that really bothers me.  I don't know how Omega can sleep at night knowing Rolex have the same thing, but all tidy and out of sight.  And I really wouldn't care if I didn't think it was such a great watch that otherwise looks fantastic.

Thank, I almost didn’t get it because of the Bond connectio, but it’s now one of my favorites because of the comfort and great look on.

I tried these 2 on at an AD a few weeks ago - both looked awesome but the black on black on black was a total statement piece.  In person I liked it better, but was still very clear eyed that it was hard to read and totally bonkers.   Any other C-master was going to be more legible for daily use.  I think going for clarity is good goal on a first lux buy.

Put me into the all green camp. But for this poll I voted for the white, which I view to be a close second.

I have the silver dialed AT. It's amazing.

A or C.  A if you really are committed to a  tool looking variation.

wasn't aware of this reference! I actually think it looks just as good as a Hulk

·

white is the bomb. love the contrast and all black hands and black surrounding indices.

All black would be my second choice. It has a nice stealthy look to it.

IMHO, the Seamaster Pro looks much better on rubber strap. And is arguably better looking than the Sub. My only complaint is the gap between the date window and date wheel at 6.

Much nicer without the date window. And love the contrasting case and rubber strap combo.

·

definitely le white one. The black black is particular and personaly when I look at it I just see a unicolor black bloc without details. the titanium black is too classic. And I personnaly find the blue one ugly but if you like it it could also be a good choice.
