How do you store your watches?

I have a Holm and Hadfield display case on my dresser, but it only holds 4 watches. The rest are in a drawer. What can I do to keep them from getting messed up? I'm not worried about theft just keeping them in good condition.

In two display cases on my nightstand, so I can easily pick one when I get dressed. I'm not worried about theft, my valuables are elsewhere.

You need a bigger box(es).

Nothing fancy-just practical.

I have a couple of 20 watch boxes that I got through Amazon.

·

I have a watch-winder-box which doubles as a display case. It can keep 4 watches wound, but there is a room to display a few more, where I have my quartzes. I may need another one of those soon for my growing collection.

Strewn across my room on every flat surface like a hoarder.  I wake up, see a watch, put it on.  It's an issue, @coaxial_katie got me this beautiful watch box for my birthday last year and I just don't have the permanent space to use it yet.

I have a Wolf box for my current rotation, and an older display case I got from massdrop for my overflow, but it is now overflowing... I've seen some posts elsewhere about using a cheap tackle boxes for this purpose, I was thinking of trying that for my lower value watches.

I am not a fan of boxes, you always have empty slots which are shouting: fill me XD

so I decided to simply put them on a leather pad.

I lay mine out on an open watch roll, much like you do with the leather pads.

I got a rather old cushioned watch case that can keep 10 pieces, also some amazon display winder case that can hold 6 watches, i dont fire it up anymore as... Idk, i dont feel too comfortable with electricity driving motor (bound to have coils and magnets within). Kinda money wasted.

I dont have enough rooms to keep all my watches so those that i dont wear often / more expensive pieces will get a spot in the case, rest likely to be tougher watches and get rotates daily would just be lying around somewhere within the drawer.

Gshocks.... all by the windows for band 6 and sunlight. 🤣

When my collection grew to the point where I wanted a nice display box, I ended up purchasing a Wolf Windsor 10 slot box from a local AD (they also come in 5 slot and 15 slot versions).  I opted for it because I liked the look, and it felt like a nice quality product.  As my collection has grown, I've added two more of the same, just to maintain a consistent style. I purchased the others from Amazon, at significant savings over the price at the AD.   They provide enough space between watches to ensure that watches aren't rubbing together, and I appreciate the glass top display.

I have one of these, which I really like because it has a drawer for all my extra straps, tools, cleaning cloths, etc.

This brand I find priceworthy.

https://www.trendhim.se

Different sizes and Wood material available. ”I bought them to myself”😎

There are a lot of good options on Etsy for reasonable prices. A good middle ground between a generic chinese factory box and expensive Wolf boxes. Personally I have a wood box from etsy that holds 6 watches.

like a slob in denial i keep them in the top drawer of my EDC bureua my wife got me:

I use 4 Mil poly bags.

  • 3"x3" and 3"x4"  for watch heads and parts
  • 3"x10" and 3"x12" for watch and watch/strap storage, (12" for watches with NATO straps)
  • Watches with bracelets usually fit 4"x4" or 4"x5".

I needed something strong enough to weather some opening and closing, and and 4mil is thick enough to protect stainless cases and sometimes acrylic crystals from inadvertent scratching.

They work beautifully for watch storage, and also come in handy for storing other miscellaneous items, as well.

That looks great but my cat likes watches as much as I do. They'd all be on the floor.

I gotta check out Etsy. All the boxes  I looked at on Amazon are Chinese junk.

And they're inexpensive. I get 100 of the 3"x12" for about $12.00

I think this also uncovers an interesting point. My watch case is, admittedly, Chinese junk. And that’s fine. I got it purely for practical purposes, not display. I’m a bachelor, and the only person who sees my watches when I’m not wearing them is me. I just needed something that met the needs I had at the price I wanted to spend. And the reason I brought it up is this: When you’re looking for storage, the thing that’s probably going to steer you in the best direction is knowing exactly what you want before even going in. That way, you stand less of a chance of browsing aimlessly for weeks.

Maybe I’m telling you something you already know. Maybe I‘ve just had whiskey. I mean, I HAVE had whiskey . . . eh, you know what I mean. 😂

I have a small budget-friendly collection and I keep it in this leather watch roll I got. Works great for me!
