I went though that same thought process and I decided to pull the trigger on the Seiko Alpinist GMT despite the higher price over the Khaki as I prefer the look more.

Honestly, legibility is fine, but definitely not optimal with all the little phantoms on the dial during the day. It is a bit better at night with the glow.

I think that you need to go with the one that is closest to your heart. They are both very nice. I don’t think that there is any wrong decision either way. I personally chose a GMT version of the alpinist. But that is not the current topic 😊
