SOTC currently; an interesting bunch

Hey everyone! This is the state of my collection currently. I think it’s a weird bunch of watches being so small. Just recently got into mechanical watches and their history, so that explains the vast differences.

From left to right (also from oldest to newest), we have:

STORM London Vaultron: I got this watch in Greece in 2018 whilst on holiday. Being 17 at the time, it was just perfectly weird for my tastes. The blue LEDs light up based on the time.

Tayroc TY182 Slate: Got this one in 2019, and it’s a quartz movement. Bought it basically just for style, as I had just gotten into a more classy clothing style, which I still do today. The watch itself does not get much use anymore, however.

Apple Watch Series 6: My most used watch, which I got back when it released in 2020. Before I got my Tapferkeit, I used this one everyday. I still use it a ton, but to a lesser extent now that I have gotten into mechanical watches. It’s a wonderfully practical smart watch, and I love it.

Tapferkeit Freiheit 2.0: Bought it last summer, and it is my first mechanical watch. After a few months looking at mechanical watches with my friend, I fell for this one. The cream dial, the minimal look and the brown leather straps makes it a classy choice. I understand now that it is a part of the «affordable luxury» category, but it certainly beats most of those horrible brands.

Vostok Amphibia SE: My newest watch, and probably my favourite one! So much of it is unknown, I am not even sure about the SE in the name. The reference number could be 670333S, but I have only seen this number pop up once in my research. It’s either from the 70’s or 80’s. It’s mysterious nature is fascinating me a ton. My daily driver!

Currently waiting for two used Seikos as well, and the collection is ever expanding.

Anyone have a Double Red Sea-Dweller laying  around they want to give away? 🤭

I am seriously digging that Vaultron!

Vostok are the chugging diesel tractors of the mechanical watch world! And I think they are brilliant.

Lots of dial options out there and you can pick up a modded option on Etsy.

Haven't checked Etsy for them, will do!

Brilliant description of what they do, I love them too. Need a few more down the line.

Welcome, fascinating group. You sure you didn’t take the Vaultron from the Cylons? They are not ones to be challenged! 😂

·

Welcome to WatchCrunch! Good start, that Vaultron is positively quirky. Very nice watch.

Love the Vostok and so far I see you like the Bauhaus style of watches. Very cool. Ever tried looking at Junkers watches? You might like what you see there.
