Blue Diver

When I think of the best and most appropriate color dial for a dive watch, I think of blue due to the obvious fact of water being involved. What's your favorite blue diver? Obviously there's a lot out there so I suspect plenty of options Es. I tried pick across 4 different price points between below $2K to over $10K. I chose the tudor bb 58 over the pelagos because it seems to be the slight more common one. I weighed Longines hydroconquest over the Oris Aquis and Diver 65s. I'm sure I'll see posts about Seikos and other similar pieces too.

Even tho I bought it in black, it has to be the SMP for me.

Can't go wrong with the SMP. But with the rubber as the bracelet is not my taste

Fair enough! I like the bracelet, despite it not tampering. Makes me feel like Bond when I have that blue dial and bracelet on with a black suit or thin black sweater haha

At those price points I prefer the Aquis, Tudor Pelagos, and Breitling Superocean. I picked the GO because it is a standout on the upper end.

Breitling Superocean was deff one I considered but thought it ranged a tad close to the Omega

It does. I don’t care for the bracelet of the SMP and the Superocean movement is really lacking at that price point. The real kicker, however, is that the helium escape valve is so out of place on the SMP that it is only challenged by the world’s most awkward minute hand on the SO.

Yeah the HE valve is part of the whole SMP image, like a cyclops on a Rolex. I like the HE valve, I've seen image renderings done of an SMP without the HE valve and it just seems lacking. Makes it unique in my opinion

I have the SMP but voted for the black bay 58 as the omega is too big for me

Plot twist!

Will never get over the asymmetry of the Longines missing the number “3.”

Yeah it is kinda funky

·

I choose the Tudor, because a date on a diver? Really? Like you really want to know that when you're diving...

Fair enough! I actually prefer the date on the diver cuz its a tool watch that I use everyday so I enjoy having the date. I prefer dates on sport watches and no dates on certain dress pieces when it makes better symmetry.

Same...I want to love them but my eyes jump to the missing 3 everytime

·

Totally agree...I am a sucker for blue dials!  My vote goes to the SMP, but honestly, I would wear and love them all!

Duro in blue is nice

·

I would have picked the SeaQ in your poll had you picked the smaller 39mm version without the date. I think the one you list here is a bit too large and I don't like the placement of the date window, even though things like that rarely bother me. I just think the smaller version of this watch is a better looking variant.

·

Orange is the best color for a dive watch dial.

·

My hydroconquest is the gem of my collection. Mine is a grey dial but still.

·

I have to stop myself from buying blue divers.  I can’t abide the HEV.

My favorite blue diver.

·

Eh. AP is too hyped and way far into the higher luxury realm.

·

Sorry to everyone that said something else … however, your wrong lol.

Best blue diver is the Squale 1521

To be honest, a vote in the poll of the 4 pieces. But I also love the curb and seinfeld GIFs. You sir have good taste.

My local barkeep was wearing one of these last week. Really beautiful in person!

While orange is considered the most visible dial color for use underwater (see research performed by Doxa in the 1960s), blue is clearly the favorite for desk diving.

Huge fan of blue dials...and specifically blue dial dive watches...here are some in the collection in alpha order...
