I find it hard to believe that your wrist size never changes. Mine fluctuates quite a bit. Much slimmer when it is cold outside and there is no humidity. When it is hot and/or humid, the wrist swells. This is also well-known to happen with fingers. For instance, it can be hard to take off a ring on a hot, humid, summer day.
I have an IWC Ingenieur with an amazing push button micro-adjust system that you can operate with one hand without taking off the watch. Whenever I wear the watch, I find myself adjusting it multiple times throughout the day as I go in and out of buildings or even as indoor air conditioning or heating kicks on. Once you have a micro-adjust system like this, you realize how amazing it is, and it's hard to go back to putting up with a less than ideal fit.
For comparison, I also have the Tudor Ranger with the T-fit clasp and it is nowhere near as good as the IWC. You have to take the watch off to make adjustments, and I needed to buy a half-link to even make the micro-adjust system work. With the IWC, I was able to size the bracelet perfectly so that I was right in the middle of the micro-adjust under normal conditions, allowing me to go tighter or looser as needed. Not so with the Ranger. Of course, the IWC bracelet is also way more comfortable so that is nice too.
In any event, different strokes for different folks. For my wrist, I need micro-adjust if I am ever going to buy a watch with a bracelet again, and I am also picky about it. Fortunately, I generally prefer straps.
Wear whatever you like. It's your wrist and your money. For me, I just can't seem to get into pilots watches no matter what strap or bracelet they are on. Just not my thing. I agree with the above comment that you should try a bund strap as those were once fairly common for pilots watches.
I personally liked Grand Seiko less after trying on a bunch of them at an AD. The sizing of many models is odd (thick, top heavy, weird lug lengths). Bracelets are lackluster with no microadjust. I don't find dials that look like crumpled pieces of paper to be very attractive. The watches with simpler dials are a bit better but just seem to lack life to me. I like a lot of what Grand Seiko does on paper, but they just don't do it for me in person. Go look at them and try some on before you buy one based on what you read online.
