I am torn between the two

My watch journey isn't that long yet, but my mindset has already changed a lot. In the beginning, I found many watches too small, but now the opposite is true. Well, but there are limits. My smallest watch is currently an Echo Neutra in 39mm with a lug to lug of 46mm.

I have a wrist wrist size of about 18.5cm.

Now I have my eye on two watches from Christopher Ward. One is the C63 Sealander Automatic with the green dial and the other is the C65 Dune Automatic with the white sand dial. The only difference is that the C65 Dune is a little smaller. 38 to 39 mm in diameter and 43.6 to 45.8 mm lug to lug. What do you think? Does this really make a visible difference?

Prefer the look of the Green dialed one myself

Depends a bit also on how the watch wears for its size.

I would have bought the Dune myself already after release but I think 39mm is the minimum for my 18.5cm (so same as you) wrist. This was recently confirmed when I purchased the Tudor BB58 at 39mm. I don't wanna go smaller but it's also a matter of personal taste.

How do you like your 39mm watch from this perspective? Borderline? Then the dune will be difficult I guess.

I guess you're right. My only other 39mm watch is already at the limit I guess.

I love the cream colored dial. Looks old and new at the same time!

It's a pity that with CW you cannot just go into a boutique and try it on..

Looks great but it depends on your taste and personal style. For a more elegant classic or vintage inspired look, go for the smaller sizes. For a more sporty modern look, go for the 43ish

·

Great thing about Christopher Ward is the 60 day return policy. Try one out.

·

Perfect size for any wrist 34mm to 36mm. 😁

·

Green

·

Don’t think the difference in size will be noticeable. Go for the green

·

Go for green.

I prefer the sealander case of those but I already have the vintage style case of the dune. They will have more wrist presence than the numbers suggest because of the male end links but both will wear fine for you. This is 41mm and my wrist is the same as yours

Funny, I own the same watch (currently for sale due to refreshing my collection).

But anyways, since I'm looking for a green dial for quite a long time, I'll have to go for the Sealander.

I'm looking to add either the s2 Cranwell or a sealander to my collection at some point. The aventurine dial sealander could be my pseudo dress watch if I can get one for a good price.

Green now. Sand later.

I’m considering a trip to Britain just for that reason lol

·

Love the green dial!

·

I have two Seiko Alpinist. One with a cream dial and one with a green dial . My experience is that the green looks nicer but the cream is much more versatile.

·

Go for the green!

·

I can see why… both great looking

·

Dune all day, every day! Have you considered the Twelve? I own the blue Twelve and love it!

I‘m not a big fan of integrated bracelets

·

@Brennan_T_Williams But maybe i should overthink that?

My wrist is also around 18.5cm, and the CW 39mm wears really nicely for me, and on the bracelet has enough wrist-presence. I've gone - over many years - from smaller, to larger, and back to smaller watches, again and again, but I'm kind of in a 'liking anything' (within reason!) phase ATM. My current crop rangers from 32mm to 42mm. You tastes will change, and change again and again over time, so just let that happen naturally and buy (and sell) accordingly. I've got a couple that I've had for around 9 years, but they're the exception and not the rule. Most don't stay that long with me.👍

You really can’t go wrong with any of those three Christopher Ward watches! Just depends on what will match what you wear best, and budget tbh.

·

I have the CW C60 Sapphire Orange, 40mm case on my 18.25 wrist , fits perfect. I think the Dune could start to feel a tad on the small size, annoying cos I love the black version.

·

The lug to lug may make a visual difference more than the diameter imo . Both are great sizes that should fit your wrist nicely. The sand dial will go with more if you are looking for versiatlty

·

I Chose Christopher Ward for my first bronze watch. I really love the blue on the bronze. I bought the C65 diver with the COSC certification.

IIRC they do have a single boutique in the UK
