Wrist time conundrum 😔

Hey guys, so I’ve had this Hamilton khaki field mechanical for about a month now, and I’ve worn it every single day (it’s my first grail after all) problem is I feel bad for my other watches, I open the box, try one of the others on for 5 minutes then I put it back and wear my Hamilton, is this normal? Honeymoon period? I feel like I don’t want any other watch at the moment, yet I feel bad for my collection? Can anyone relate? Suggestions and comments are welcome.

Nice Hamilton. I imagine you'll soon be back in a rotation of sorts. I'm like that with new watches for a few days but I'm fussy about matching colours to clothing so I rotate frequently anyway. 😂

Me too 😂

This too shall pass 😂

Yeah this happens. When you have a watch you really really like it's hard to switch. For me I usually try wearing 2 differant watches on the weekend for fun to just change it up and give wrist time to other pieces.

Thank you, I match with different straps so it hasn’t been an issue matching it to clothes, I hope it’s just a phase, because otherwise I gave my entire collection equal wrist time before 🥲😂

Thank you, I’ll try doing that

You could wear two and be a part of the double wrist club!

Very common. Yes, this is part of the honeymoon period. Some last longer than others. For me, It's not uncommon that I wear a watch for months at a time, neglecting all others I may own for the time (I have a very small collection). In 2022, I wore the Seiko SLA057 for essentially 8 months straight. Literally almost every single day in that time. This year, I've been wearing the SPB317 for nearly 3 months straight at this point.

Aren’t all watch problem first world problems? 😂

Different people have different styles. I like wearing something different every day, even after I buy something new. Others do like you and wear the same thing for a long time. That’s okay! Wear what makes you happy.

·

if you're enjoying it wear it...the other watches will still be there

·

A one and done watch solves that problem 😂

Nothing major tbh 😄 a few Casios, G-shocks, a Praesidus field watch, and my dad’s quartz Raymond Weil, so this Hamilton is definitely a step up

Then it’s earned its wrist time

·

Every new watch that I buy gets the one month honeymoon phase, then I remember I have other watches too 😂

·

Nice carpet actually too :)

It's been six months since I acquired this Steinhart and I'm still exactly the same way! I'll throw another watch on....but five minutes later, the Steiny is back on my wrist. I just LOVE this freakin watch!

If it feels right I wouldn't sweat it. I actually considered getting rid of my Casioak collection a few weeks ago because honestly, I rarely wear them. But my wife pointed out they are a nice collection. Even if I wear them once in a blue moon that's all they are, a small collection.

Not every watch has to be practical or worn all the time I guess is how I feel about it. Sometimes I just open up my Casio box, put them on, admire them and put them away again. It makes me smile. Similar to cards, or coins, whatever you're into.

That said, you have to catch yourself when things are getting out of hand. There is a difference between collecting, cluttering and hoarding:

Right now.. I’m sort of in the opposite state as you. I have my rotating 6 pieces yet I find myself reading and looking up on another piece for the past week despite telling myself that the sept purchase will be the last one (for the year)

·

Yup I’m the same 😌then the rotation begins again. After a few years, you will know which are the ones you’ve truly fallen out of love with and move them on.

·

I hardly ever wear the same watch consecutively due to the daily WRUW posts 😂

·

The thiness of this watch and its solid feeling made it a perfect watch. I bought myself one for my 20th anniversary and I don't regret it.

Have you tried the metal bracelet ? I personnalisy like it.

I did, I like how the bracelet looks, makes it a whole different watch

Their time will come again after the honeymoon period 😉
