An Introduction - from myself and my microbrand

Hi WatchCrunch! I'm new here, but can already tell I'll be spending a lot more time here! My name is Matt, and I have been in the watch industry for over 5+ years - starting with modding and selling SKXs, to working as a watch salesman,, and eventually working as a luxury watch boutique manager selling Rolex and AP. Despite all of this, my dream has always been to create my own brand - something I am extremely proud to announce today!

I'd love to connect with all of you, and am always down to chat watches - whether it be my own designs or my vast collection of over 50+ watches.

I won't bore you with all of the details and specifications now, but if you're interested I'll let you do your own research, or please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have!

Looking forward to connecting!

Matt

Welcome, what is the name of your brand?

Thankyou! Upon reflection something I probably should have mentioned above - but also being mindful that I want to connect and provide value to the community rather than to promote and run!

The brand name is Hz Watches, and you can learn more about the brand and our story at www.hzwatches.com

Please feel free to ask any questions, and happy to answer and discuss!

Thankyou, nope not at all - that's the one! Would also appreciate any feedback on the website as always looking at ways to improve and make it more friendly!

Actually liked the blue one with the gray strap. With a little fixtures i think it Will be an amazing concept and watch For a brazelet. I'm more of SPORT watches but i just bought a Seiko coutura solar SNE565 and Even tho i don't use brazelet watches cause i think my wrist looks way better with nato or something else, i had to Buy that one cause it Suits me perfectly. So after all this text the resume is, check that brazelet i think it Will suit the design concept for a more formal watch. And also suscribed for the presale! Luck with the brand

Thankyou! I did trial a few bracelets but found that they weren't the quality that I would expect - and would also bring the price higher than I'd like to remain in the affordable bracket. I'm still testing different bracelet designs and manufacturers, so watch this space! Thankyou for your support - I really appreciate it!

I really like what you did with the “HLZ” using circuitry in the logo. Very eye catching.

Site looks great too. I will be revisiting! Good luck with launch!

Thankyou! When I sketched it out I just went yep that's perfect!

Appreciate your feedback on the site, and thankyou for your support!

  1. In theory I think you are allowed to put "Swiss Movement" or some such on the dial and I am glad that you did not.

  2. It seems clear to me that the opening photo has the crown out to keep the second hand from obscuring things during photography, but please reassure people.

  3. As you may know, some people go crazy about the second hand "hitting the marks" and this seems to do that.

  4. oh yeah, so brand pronunciation. Is it "hurts" or haitsch-zed or aitch-zee or what?

Thankyou for taking the time to write this out!

On 1, I hate seeing unnecessary dial text - which offers no real utility to the watch. Will writing sapphire on the dial make my watch harder? No, at least I don't think so. Same thing with Swiss movement, will it make my watch any better? Nope - just extra clutter on the dial. I'm super glad you agree!

2. Great pickup - I've pulled the crown out here to compensate for my shaky photo hands, but I will be uploading professional product photography soon!

3. Thankyou! This is an obsession of mine with quartz pieces and something I have been very strong and strict with in QC

4. Great question! For me it has been a combination of all! I've been meaning to do a poll on this one day to let the community decide! After all the inventor of the gif wanted it pronounced jif, but the community has other ideas!

Thannk you for your support and please reach out if you have any questions or want to chat watches!

12 days 20 minutes 10 seconds!!

I'm counting down the seconds!

Thank you all for engaging with me, my microbrand, and this post! Whilst it looks like I'm talking to myself now, I do think it is important to connect with each and every one of you that offers your time, support, feedback, and well wishes! For me my way of doing that is to ensure I reply to every comment on my posts, and every message.

If you would like to chat at anytime please feel free to do so, and I look forward to chatting!

Can't wait for the next post, and to continue to grow Hz Watches alongside the WatchCrunch community.

See you soon!

Matt

Thanks Patrik, definitely some really good and valid advice which I appreciate! I've added these to my list for website updates and will see to it over the coming days!

I was going to make a post soon about how watch boxes (packaging) are outdated, and how we've opted to provide a custom watch roll matched to each colourway, but I'll drop a sneak peek here! These will be up on the website soon as well!

That watch case is a very nice touch!

Thankyou for your kind words and your support, the concentric circles certainly remind me of that as well!

Good eye, the crown has definitely not been pushed in, something I had to do to support my amateur photography skills! Rest assured some really cool product photos coming soon!

Looking forward to seeing more thank you .

Thankyou! Have been furiously typing out and sending emails, and may have caught a few hits! Some interesting articles to come for sure - being an Australian brand we've roped in a pretty big watch authority that started in Australia (Hint there are two Ts), plenty of exciting things to come!

Nice one! I don't know if reaching out to Youtuber watch enthusiasts is another way to spread your name effectively, but if you got time, maybe look into that avenue as well? I wouldn't know who to recommend though...

·

Welcome! How was the process of starting your own watch? How did that experience go?

·
Ichibunz

Love your design!! I might sign up for one!! 🍻

You should! (Of course, don't if it'll set you back a lot; be responsible :)

They're really clean, combine day-date, and are titanium! All for $165 USD rn

·

@hzwatches Do you have any better (real life) pictures of the Green and Burgundy colour options? the ones on the website don't seem to do them justice.

I would just get the blue, but I am trying to expand my watch colours.

·

Beautiful pieces 👏🏻 love the sector dial inspired looks with that green 👌🏻💚
