Allow me to introduce myself....

I've always lusted over watches. My first I bought as a kid was the Timex Mechanical Camper watch. I'll admit I fell into the fashion watch trap for a short time, but learned. My biggest problem now is passing on good, but lower tier options, instead of saving for more aspirational pieces. My family doesn't understand my obsession. I was so happy to find fellow enthusiasts on YouTube and now here. Here is my humble watch collection as it stands. I hope to add a Hamilton Murph (maybe) this year

Welcome.

My family is all at the ophthalmologist being treated for rolling their eyes too much when I start talking about watches.

WE are your family now… 😂

Hahaha. Yes. My family is in need of treatment for eye injuries caused by severe eye roll also. Sounds like a widespread phenomenon. I had someone come into work wearing an Islander watch, and we both immediately launched into a discussion about TGV and Urban Gentry. He seemed genuinely shocked that I recognized the brand. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Thanks. The Bulova was an anniversary gift. My wife doesn't understand my obsession, but she did pick a winner. I'm a sucker for a blue dial.

Welcome to WC! Cool looking collection. 🍻

Welcome. And that's a pretty good start. I'm wearing the same Casio Illuminator as I'm typing this.

WCへようこそ!Welcome to the Crunch. Warms my heart to see another collection in my own price range!

Welcome. I know what you mean by starting with budget watches, not being able to pass up a watch and save for a more expensive, more desirable watch. I did the Casio, Timex and lower in seikos for a while. Actually have managed to get a couple of Hamiltons, an ORIS etc... Being more expensive, they were supposed to be more fun and more satisfying. Well, they sit and collect a lot of dust. I do like wearing them from time to time but for the most part my Casios and a couple of Timex get the most time and I have a lot more fun with them. Everybody is different. One of these days I'm going to sell off most of the expensive ones except one or two for special occasions.

I hope to add a Hamilton Murph to my collection this year, but, funny thing is, I'm excited about these. Lol.

Many thanks. It's good to be in like minded company. My wife, kids and extended family don't get it. I'm hoping to pass on some of my obsession to at least one of my sons.

Welcome! Great collection! The only advice I have is there is no right or wrong, you get the pieces you like and that's it. Enjoy!

I fell into a similar spell. Bought many watches because it was a phenomenal deal, even if they weren’t pieces I’d normally go for. (Curse you eBay) Took a long time to get over that habit but in the end, obtaining that one watch I really wanted & saved for was much more meaningful. It might be tricky but I’m sure you’ll snag that Murph sooner than later.

Yep. Sounds about right.

Many thanks. As for empty slots, I'm doing my best not to fill those slots with buyer's remorse.
