I had a Gray and Also a Black CasioOak which I returned because I cannot tell the time it is so hard with the hour and minute hands blends with the dial. it looked cool but for a watch a digi/analog that i cannot see and tell time it’s wasn’t for me, I think I got caught with the hype of it, so the Moonswatch for me but if the ticking is as loud as any bio ceramic swatches forget it! Seiko for me 😁

I'm a Casio fan and presently have four in my small collection. I'm also a recent collector so missed all the hype for the Casioak. To be honest I can't see what the fuss is about with them. Some interesting colours but legibility seems to be pretty awful so not for me.

I haven't seen a Moonswatch in the flesh but it seems like a cool idea and I might get one in a while when they inevitably drop in price. I actually quite like a loud tick so if that is one of its faults that's OK by me!

Casioak - hands down..   The quality of the moon swatch is, well...   Not good

I do agree with you on picking the Casioak. Casio is hard to beat for value, quality, and durability. I am curious about your statement on the quality of the Moonswatch. I haven't heard anything really negative about its quality, nor have I seen one in person. Have you been able to see one in person, or have you heard or seen negative reviews of it? Just asking.

Seems like most of us are going for Casio, which is understandable. I have a real speedmaster, but still have an itch to get a moonswatch (Mars, Mercury and Jupiter). Very smart marketing by Swatch I have to say. You wanna get a moonswatch whether or not you have a real speedmaster.

The new CasiOak with BT and Solar has made the decision a bit easier.

Both are fun and playful watches. Quality isn’t my top consideration here. I will probably end up getting both but will get the new CasiOak first and wait until the moonswatch to become attainable at RRP.

Thanks for posting the video! I hadn't seen this and was not aware of these criticisms. I agree with him on the price point and might consider one if I could find it well below $200, maybe around $150. It would be sort of a novelty piece like my Pac Man watches. 😂

Of the two in the article, MoonSwatch all the way. I wear my watches primarily as a time telling device, so any styling choices that make it hard to read are a no-go for me.

·

Casioak
Would go for the new release with solar and bluetooth if you want a black one or the killer yellow. From the first release the grey one for sure, looks killer.
I love the moonswatches too, but I don't see them lasting as long as a G-Shock.

I think it depends on the criteria. Value wise you can't beat the G Shock, especially the new iterations of the casioak.

I would pick the Moonswatch personally.

  1.  I already have a G shock square
  2. I have a Speedy Pro so would be cool to have one to wear in places that I would not no rally bring the original.
  3. I like to collect Swatches
  4. I like the different Moonswatch colors

Maybe not the best of reasons but I don't think we necessarily buy watches for the best of reasons haha

A Speedy is my Grail & if you look at my collection, you'll see I like novelty. So if presented with the Casioak, Mars, Moon or Mercury at MSRP, I'd take the MoonSwatch.

I don’t like either. I finally saw these in the flesh yesterday, and I am very much vindicated in the views I have expressed on the subject. If you want to spend up to £225 on a watch, have you considered a vintage Smiths, or in that case, ANYTHING else?

I am no Speedy fan, or even a chrono fan, but compared to an ana-digi with stealth hands...put me on team MoonSwatch.

·

They are too different ,  but  of I was forced to choose I would get moonswatch as  I like the colours more

I was ready to get a MoonSwatch  after all this hype and madness not worth the time and money. theres better watches you can get for that price.
