With male end links, you don't have loose end links when the bracelet is off of the watch. But yeah, depending on wrist size, wearability can be affected.
I think there will always be another watch in line after a new acquisition. I have a couple watches that I'm thinking about selling, but hesitate because I like them enough that there's risk for a re-buy in the future if I did sell them!
If you got the titanium one for a good deal below what the retail was, then it's kind of a wash to lose money on the sale of the steel one?

I only tried on the watch for like a minute, but the ladder bracelet felt nice and light! I don’t know what my impression would be for lengthy wear with the ladder bracelet, but I think it would be just fine. This is unfortunately maybe out of my price point though..
