My Reward for an Extremely Tough Year
I’ve been staring at this Hanhart 1954 reverse panda 417 ES Flyback all year. It caught my eye the moment I saw it because it looked so unique. After watching TGV’s video tour of the Hanhart headquarters and seeing their dedication to craftsmanship (they build tools that they use to build their own tools!), I was sold.
This year was a rough one. My grandma passed away, and my aunt is terminally ill. On top of that work has been absolutely crazy this year. I’ve never been so busy. My company noticed how hard I was working and gave me a huge salary bump and bonus.
I haven’t felt very Christmassy this holiday season, but having my hard work recognized and getting the chance to buy myself this watch finally gave me the smallest spark of holiday cheer.
The watch is beautiful in person and not as big as I worried it would be (it’s the 39mm, but I have 6in wrists), even on the bund strap. I plan to buy the stainless steel strap to go with it later next year so I can wear it in the summer.
I just love watches! I enjoy collecting them, working on them, staring at them… I’m also a whiskey, coffee, and beer snob.

I’ve had mine for about 4 months and I’m loving it. I wear mine on either a black or brown bund.
