SOTC October 2023

A mix of quartz and mechanical, this is my current 10+1 collection of watches. Sure there are other pieces kept in a separate box and rolls, but these are some keepers starting from top left:

  1. Mondaine Classic Dial: bought in Zurich along with my whole family getting various models during a trip. Been eyeing it since seeing it all around train stations in Switzerland

  2. J-Axis Mythos Diver: a gift from Japan given by my dad

  3. Seiko SKX007: a couples watch me and my wife got (she has the even cooler SKX013) as wedding presents for each other. Though she isn’t into mechanical watches and I end up winding it for her every time 😂

  4. Omega Moonswatch Mission to Pluto: a gift from my mom, as she gave my sister the Mission on Earth. Got it while on a trip to Singapore for during her cancer treatment, and waited in line with my wife at the store. Good old bricks and mortar purchase

  5. Seiko Lord Quartz: got this due to the beautiful green dial, such a great tone of green. Also my brother in law got two white dials from Instagram auctions, so decided to get one myself,

  6. Pulsar Mickey Mouse: this is my current birth year watch, purchased from Instagram as well. Holds a special place as I wore this during the birth of my daughter

  7. Limawatch Meca Revolt Gold Lightning: always intrigued by this brand, and they had a great line of mechanical watches inspired by vintage toys, but when they came out with a diver, then spoofed the Mission to Moonshine Gold Swatches, I just had to pull the trigger. Fun piece from an Indonesian Microbrand

  8. Nam Mahameru Automatic: the ivory dial, breguet indices, blue seconds hand also the subdial, a very classy and unique design by another Indonesian microbrand

  9. Tissot PRX Powermatic 80: when I saw the blue dial, both me and my wife were impressed. She always compliments every time I take this piece out. My very first entry into mechanical Swiss watches

  10. King Seiko KS4402-8000 Vintage: I have many vintage watches (which I’m going to sell on as they really are hard to maintain) but this King Seiko is an anomally. It’s such a workhorse, still has over a days power reserve, and the finish and dial is just a joy to see. Always think about this watch when I haven’t used it in a while. Always nice to have a piece that lingers like that makes you know which ones you really enjoy

  11. On the wrist Timex x MAKNA: a limited edition of 250pcs, great simple design in collaboration with Indonesian creative media group. Quite glad to be able to have this in the collection

Well that’s it for my state of the collection, thanks so much if you’ve read til this far. Didn’t realize it’d be this long of a post, but I guess that’s what Watch Crunch is here for. Please let me know what you think of this collection, and any similar experiences you have with watches!

Can I please humbly request a better photo of the "green" Lord Quartz? It looks almost black on your photo...

Plus there’s some good history in them

Nice collection, friend. I love reading about the back story and connection we have with our watches that makes this hobby so personal and real.

·

Is that Mondaine the stop2go type? I love those!

·

Intrigued by number 7. Looks better in your pic than on their website.

·

*Sigh, opens up eBay for the Pulsar Mickey Mouse*

Everyone needs a mickey mouse watch. (or a snoopy watch. [Or a custom watch done in the style of a mickey mouse watch, but as their own fursona.])

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s a stop2go movement and just a regular quartz. But I got it for the very clean face without any branding on it

Thanks mate. Seeing it in person is much better too than seeing pics. After I saw it in store I knew I had to get it
