Which Watch Brand is the Most Over-Hated?

I know it's a tiny thing but, you put a pic of Hublot up! 😄 I don't have enough knowledge about Hublot and why they are hated but my peeve is that every single Hublot I've ever seen has bezel screws that don't line up in any way and that alone would drive me maaaaad! 😄

This might be a very unpopular opinion but I do like some Hublot watches, I really do! There fun and outlandish. Then again if I look at the pricing of these watches, it is a big nope for me 😄

Invicta cuz they are sometimes obnoxious with those designs, and their best watch is a rolex homage

It is easy to pick on Hublot, so many YouTubers do it. It is harder to hate on the popular kids. I would rather see a rant about Montblanc or Longines, but I never do.

Invicta - Because of their outlandish designs on some of their product lines, and because of their perpensity for larger (45+mm) cases.

Stuhrling - Because of their early use of gray / shady advertising tactics. (They've gotten better in recent years.)

Not so much a brand but I think many, many people are hoodwinked by 'designer' watches, generally really cheap & crap movements with a half arsed case & bracelet / strap and charging premium money for them.

I'm a bit of a humbug about all things 'designer' and will actively not buy clothes with obvious branding, apols, just be v miserable today! 😄 😄

I think TAG gets a lot of unwarranted hate, mostly because it's "cool" to hate them. It's the same for Hublot, but I think it hurts the community more with TAG, as TAG watches are most affordable than Hublot.

How many people have been convinced to look elsewhere, rather than buy a watch the community hates?

Any watch brand that uses cheap parts to sell expensive watches. Selling a $300.00 watch with a $3.00 quartz movement is just wrong.

Agreed. Even $20 will get you a quartz movement that will last.

I'm with you on TAG. They have never recovered from their product strategy during the 80s, and their watches are still better than their marketing.

I think IWC is going to be the next brand to hate based on their Ingenieur pricing.

Pretty much any brand that makes homage watches.

Haha, yes Hublot is universally hated. I don’t hate them, just can’t afford them and if I could I’d buy something else. You don’t see it much but when you do it’s always something negative. Though by sheer volume of negative comments on here and other watch forums, it’s gotta be Rolex. People love to hate on the crown.

My wife bought me a fashion watch (Marc Ecko) for our first Christmas together in 2005. And it turned out to be a pretty decent watch. It has lasted these 18 years faithfully, and still keeps accurate time. I found out recently that it has a Seiko/Hattori movement in it. So even though neither my wife nor I knew anything about watches back then, it seems that my wife picked a winner 😎 But I guess not all fashion watches are made with good movements.
