Superhero Series: Batman

Let's have a little fun.

If Batman - or moreso Bruce Wayne - had a watch, what do you think he would wear?

My vote goes to the Bulgari Octo Finissimo in Black Ceramic (picture credit to Hodinkee.)

To me, it has Gotham architecture and the all black just is Batman; unassuming and subtle but packs a punch when it gets your attention.

I think it would be a Rolex of some sort. Batman would want a watch that's reliable and does everything he needs it to however he'd want it to fit into his playboy persona. Cue submariner or gmt. Either that or a G shock

·

Interesting I'm not sure what he would wear. Bruce Wayne plays the role of a rich playboy so it would need to be luxury but still take some abuse. Rolex comes to mind likely one with some gold. I do know he wouldn't wear this:

A Reverso Duoface in pm would be great for Bruce Wayne. Batman would probably wear a specialized G-Shock with a beefed up module!

·

Something I've certainly never considered before.

I would tend to agree with your choice of a black ceramic watch, and the Bulgari Octo Finissimo does indeed have a Gotham feel to it. I think you nailed it.

The watch community obviously feels that the black and blue bezel GMT Master II must fit the bill based on it's "Batman" nickname, but I've always felt that the full black bezel version would be more appropriate. The Octo Finissimo takes it to the next level though.

Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne wore this monster Breguet Tradition Fusee Tourbillon, which in my opinion is perfect for that character.

Bruce Wayne without a (luxury) watch will be weird. But batman with a watch on his costume will be weird too in my opinion. batman has gadgets but he is not James bond. watches are not gadgets for Batman in my opinion.

Whoa, I didn't know that. Makes me want a Tradition even more.

Of course, I'm not Wayne money so the tourbillion is a no go for me haha.

That's my fault, I wasn't very specific on focusing on just Bruce and not the alter ego. You're very correct, a watch on Batman would be completely unnecessary. I just thought the title would be easier to understand as 'Batman' than 'Bruce Wayne.'

A quirky batman may have gone for the zenith el primero revival shadow.

·

This one of course.

@curtaincall i think you knocked it out of the park… it’s the case design with that Art Deco architecture which is so synonymous with the iconic Gotham from Batman the animated series. i wonder what a Metropolis watch would feel like?

·

I like the one Christian Bale wore as Bruce Wayne.

Guess we'll cross that bridge when a Metropolis character comes up hehe

This is a duo-face model correct? Had to have been a decision that was actually thought of for this iteration because it fits so well with what we got out of his stint as the character.

·

Obviously it would be a bat-watch on his bat-wrist to tell the bat-time.

·

This one of course.

Put that on a yellow nato with utility pouches and the look is complete!

I am not sure if it is a Duoface, but it is definitely a Reverso. I think the Reverso is perfect for Batman as it is a hidden face, while the Duoface would be better for Harvey Dent. 🤣

For as much as he was trying to give off a vapid playboy vibe to throw off the scent, I would have guessed a Hublot or Richard Mille.

Is it wrong of me to view Richard Mille as the Invicta of luxury watches? 🤣 It is just a personal opinion, but Richard Mille designs always strike me as equally gaudy as Invicta original designs, albeit of far superior quality and craftsmanship.

·

I'd like to see batman wear a 36mm Rolex Explorer 124270.....Stainless, no date, functional.....perfect.

Actually, Batman does wear a watch while in the Bat suit, it's the Bat watch, probably something like a specialized G Shock modified by Lucius Fox and integrated into the Bat gauntlet on his left Bat wrist. Holy wrist watch, don't you know the hero who carries shark repellant Bat spray has to have a Bat watch? 😂🤣

Probably something like this. 😀

I like it. In a similar vein, I think Bruce Wayne would wear the Santos De Cartier Skeleton ADLC Noctambule. Wearing this Santos is an understated flex while also hinting to a ”darker” aspect of the person wearing it. 🦇

If Bruce ever needs to heed the “signal” and quickly leave a dinner party, well no need to change what’s on his wrist. This Santos is stealthy enough for the Batman. The fully lumed skeletonized dial provides utility to keep him on time as he fights Gotham’s underside.

·

I think the Reverso that Christian Bale wears in the movie suits the character well. Refined, elegant, luxurious, with a hidden side. Exactly like him.

I miss that watch so much! I knew I shouldn't have sold it 😥That GMT Master II was so overlooked and under appreciated.  Well played mate 🤙🏽

I also think that this non skeletonized Santos De Cartier would be suitable as well. The black ADLC bezel and strap, along with the grey/black dial gives it an appropriate "Batman" vibe, while retaining the Cartier elegance and refinement.

Is that the all ADLC WSSA0039? And what strap is that? Looks awesome !!

The watch in my photo isn't mine, but I have that exact model (WSSA0037) on order, arriving next week. I had originally been wanting the blue dial WSSA0030 but one of the other member of our local watch enthusiasts group was wearing the WSSA0037 to a get together last weekend, and I fell in love with it.

You’ve hit the mark. That’s the WSSA0039 on my wrist with black alligator strap. It also came with a black rubber strap. Cartier’s QuickSwitch system is pure genius so I can mix it up when I like.
