Sometimes You Have to Make Do

This toothpick trick only lasts a day, if I'm lucky.

Any other DIY's you guys got up your sleeves? Haha

Wow now THAT is a MacGyver solution. Golf clap, bravo.

I would think a thick paperclip might work if you cut it to length with wire cutters and bend it onto place. At least until you can get more spring bars shipped to you

·

How about  a clothes pin should be stronger than a paperclip?

😮

How do you get it to flex enough to get into the holes?  Doesn't it crack?

·

What happened to the original haha. The only time I ever had a spring bar failure was the strap getting caught on something or I poorly put in the spring bar.

Man, you are a legend. MacGyver would be proud of you.

He does have it on a Nato, would work in a pinch to get you home.  Wouldn't really hurt anything if the toothpick popped out.

·

It's clever and safe for the lug hole too👍...... Paper clip could make a damage to the lug hole

if you remove the tooth pick and place it in your pocket, you then have a pocket watch. Problem solved lol

I shave it just enough to slide in with a lot of force. It's stable if I get it correctly and the the actual pick side holds inside the hole. However, because it is only friction fit, the fitment only holds for so long until it comes undone. Longest I've had it hold was 2 days, but those are days without much movement

My pack caught on it and I was kinda in a rush.

Hahaha I appreciate that. He'd come up with a much longer lasting solution though!

Sounds like this isn't the first time this has happened. Luckily you've been near a source of toothpicks and been able to apply your fix. I'll make a suggestion; buy a box of assorted spring bars and put them where you keep the toothpicks. Ta dah!! 😁
