Seeing Random Rob's latest Video of watches he had owned 2 years or longer I was inspired to make this post and see what the wantchcrunch fam has to say about this topic. I myself also flipped a lot of watches over the past few years since I started collecting in 2017. Considering Random Rob is one of the craziest watch flippers in this space I would double the amount of time for us more normal folks to 4 years ๐ I only have 3 watches in my collection at the moment that lasted for 4 years or longer: it is my speedy Fois, the divers 65 and the gshock gwm5610.
so lets see what you have in peto ๐ post your safequeens that lasted longer than 4 years and are still in your collection ๐

I only started my watch-collecting hobby once I've received my first salary, so I only have these watches that fit the description:
Casio Wave Ceptor WV-M200-2AJF
Seiko 5Y30-7000
And my oldest, Seiko 7009-3040
My Certina 125th Anniversary DS80
I have two watches that have been in my collection for over 4 years. The Seiko was a work beater for many years and still runs perfectly. The Omega is a lovely watch, the sound of it winding is one of the โsweetestโ in my collection but alas it feels quite small on my wrist and I donโt wear it often.
Oh brother, almost too many to list.......I don't really sell/flip them, but maybe I should.....๐ ....prolly won't...๐คช๐ค

Some of the fam....lol...I "might" be a collector...๐ (the Momentum Sea Quartz, Helm Miyako, and TacFrog FXD don't meet the 4 yr req....yet)
By how long I personally have owned them.
1940 Moved RAF type VIIb, passed to me by my father in 1989 that he acquired post war as 'surplus'
2000 TAG 6000 Chrono I received for my 30th
A Baume and Mercier I purchased on a business trip in NYC c2006
A Citizen I purchased in 2006 as a beater
And the Rolex I purchased after a promotion in 2011
It all went very quiet until 2020 when I went from a bloke with a few watches to a man crippled with desire for the next watch....
I saw that and really had to think about 2 3 or even 4 years ... ill get back to you
Surprising only these 3. Thats because i collected invicta for years ... if i knew then what i know now. The Bulova being the old guy at 7 i think.

Pretty cool post. It has been my experience after knowing many geeks, that you either have flipping tendencies, or you don't. You can break this down further into flipper type but it's not necessary here. For the non-flipper types usually stuff tends to accumulate, I have many watches more than 4 years.
Marc Ecko Oz Encore: owned since 2005:
Stuhrling Original Concorso Raceway: Owned since 2014:
Both are still going strong / keeping accurate time.
A boatload.
