Perfect watch that doesn't exist... yet.

Have you ever thought about a watch that you whish it had an extra feature or that you would change something to make it "perfect" ?

For me, it would be a Seiko 62mas with a GMT complication and a pepsi bezel. Or a Tudor BB 58 with a date.

What would be your perfect watch that doesn't exist?

Off hand, I would love to see a 62mas with GS finishing, no date complication, and spring drive. I love mine to bits but I really don't need a date since I work a desk job and always have the day/date available at a glance.

·

42mm Grand Seiko with no date, I realize a version was made a few years back but they are now hard to find

·

Longines Spirit but with 39mm with short lugs like the new Zulu time 39mm. And to me it’s not a watch do use in a pool or in the sea, so the screw down crown would only annoying me. 😂

I would love to have it.

I made my perfect watch... until

the next one

Rolex style, Black bay hands, Seiko GMT auto and sterile Grand Seiko dial

·

Yes, Seiko divers without a blummin' date!!!!

·

62MAS but a smidge thinner. There is something about the case thickness and where the movement sits within that case that makes the 62MAS feel unbalanced and top heavy on my wrist when compared to every other Prospex diver in its price range.

62MAS is more my style but the MM200 is so comfortable on my wrist.

·

38MM GS 44GS case w/Spring Drive.

·

I think that for me it would be ideal if the 62mas is a smidge thinner, that would give a great feel to the case and i would make the clasp better. I don't like them from Seiko and i think that it is allways a missed opportunity for Seiko.

A 36mm Rolex Explorer with date at 3 o'clock (without cyclops).

·

BB58 w/ a Pepsi gmt rotating bezel and a date window w/ a cyclops lens. Add the T Fit clasp or put it on the new 5link bracelet.

·

Dude! you read my mind with Tudor - so many nice watches - no nice watches with a date! 🤬

Would love to see some more colors and a date from them but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe some other good ideas:

Rolex date without a horrific cyclops

Rolex chrono without the crazy screw pushers.

Heritage line GS with lume in grade 5 Ti and with knockout oceanic dial. 🤪

OH! 62MAS spring drive - love it! BUT - they gotta keep the date! 😜

I need to write the date several times day while running around work, it's on legal docs so no mistake allowed, and a wrist glance so much easier to double check than a phone dig out.

But maybe we could both be happy with something like a small color matched date at 4:30, I like this subtle arrangement.

my Prospex LX is a basically a blacked out marine master in Ti with spring drive, so I guess I'm doing not too badly with wish list stuff, but I'd love a blue 62MAS as well.

I think it would be a G-Shock I could wear with a suit other than in blue. A boy can dream.

·

Something thin and wearable but with sporty queues that go back to the 60s-70s. Casual enough to wear daily but clean and sophisticated enough to wear with a suit. The ultimate daily wear.

I'd just be happy with a 62mas with no date.

·

This is near perfect for me. A reissue without TAG messing up the dial would get my hard earned cash.

also good

Take the date off the above Seiko as I own an SPB147 and to be the perfect watch, I wish it didn’t have a date window at all . The thickness doesn’t bother me as I have it on an Erika’s MN strap , snug and perfect fit for mine …

A new mechanical Seiko diver that’s 39mm

·

I don't own Rolex, and I never have. But if they did a red/black ("Coke") GMT Master II on a jubilee bracelet with the adjustable clasp like a Submariner, I would have to have it.

·

I'm excited for the new 9075. True GMT!

I agree. The Spirit is such a frustrating watch. For me, 40mm is perfect, but the lugs are just huge, both in length and sheer mass. Why can’t they curve the outer sides in more and shorten them? If they did that they’d have a winner and this is the aviation/pilots watch I’d put on my list.

Right now it’s just way too chunky.

·

The SPB 149 is as close to perfect as you can get. The only thing it’s missing is a more accurate movement.

·

Ill take the spb in titanium plz. And with a really good oyster style bracelet Rolex quality 🫣 gmt hand. Sure

·

I think I have a possibly extreme obsession with watches. Then I read some of these posts from you guys and realize it could be worse. Thanks for making me feel better about myself

Speedmaster with the professional look, 100m water resistance, ceramic bezel insert, and a date.
