Traska Venturer GMT or CW C63 GMT?

Debating these two. I really like the Traska but then fell in love with the new "Dragonfly blue" dial on the Christopher Ward C63.

On paper the Traska has better specs, but I love the dial on the CW. Haven't had any experience with either company so no idea about build quality. Also the CW is available now and the Taska isn't for probably a few more months. I guess the question is, knowing that with tax+import duties the CW is about 2x as expensive as the Traska is it worth it?

This is tough for me. That’s the Traska I would want to get out of their catalog, however CW is renowned for being excellent as well. I think since the Traska has the “tegmented” steel I’d go for it instead. (And it’s cheaper)

·

It depends on whether you need the Traveller’s GMT or the Caller’s GMT first…

·

Traska had a superior harness coating. CW has a superior movement and a better warranty (5 year). I would choose the CW. That's my preference. Both are good watches from brands that stand behind their product.

·

Traska both in style and specs

·

CW for me but it’s close. I love the hands and the dial on theirs. That pointy hour hand is so nice.

·

Aesthetically the CW wins for me. That dial is gorgeous and the look is very reminiscent of Explorer II while retaining its own character. However I'd prefer the Miyota 9075 true gmt of the Traska. Maybe I'd still go for the CW.

·

Both are great choices! I haven't seen them in the flesh but the traska seems to have better proportion and interesting design choices.

·

I owned the Christopher Ward c63. Great watch excellent build quality perfect size. I sold it though as it just wasn't exciting enough for me. I currently own the traska commuter. For the money hands down a better value. I've worn it at least 30 days there's not a single scratch on it.

I’d go for the Traska. Worth the wait

·

I like the compressor style bezel of the Traska more than the external bezel of the CW, but that's just me.

·

I would go with CW. I want the white dial CW. My vote is biased, so don’t pay attention to me.

·

I like the Traska better.

·

I'll take the one without the wart for $500, Alex.

·

That's really hard. The hardness treatment vs the true GMT.. that's hard

·

CW

CW

·

Wait for a new batch of the Traska if you are not willing to pay for taxes, I'd say.

·

Good luck getting that Traska. I can never find it in stock.. I’m picking the CW on the dial and 5 year warranty.

·

What type of GMT are they? You have a tough choice if both are true/traveler GMT's. If not, go with the true GMT.

Traska has a traveler GMT, CW has a caller.

Dial on CW. The orange is perfect. Have one myself. Love it

Even though I wore a quartz office today, I prefer the traveler. Yeah, it’s a pain when the date is way out but…. 😁

·

If it were my money? The Traska. Why? Cuz I’ve got a similar steel bezel with 24hr markers GMT already. And I’ve got a CW, Sealander C63 in 36mm too. Traska for the win here.

But, it ain’t my money, so let us know what you get and pics when it arrives!

For the Traska somehow has a much more mature symmetry about it

·

I have suggested a hardened external steel bezel for Traska's GMT and they seemed extremely receptive. I'm going to be holding off for that watch.

what size is this?

·

oooh this is tough. The C63 is really eye-catching for me, but the Venturer GMT in Arctic White is really something. I keep on imagining how the Venturer would look like in a sailcloth like the ones from Artem Strap. Either way, you'd end up with a great watch! Great choices!
