Glycine watches

What is everyone's opinion on glycine watches. I don't know much about them and just wanted some thoughts on them

Very well made and designed. Fantastic values with some iconic designs. I've been an owner for years of various models and never been disappointed.

I'm sure some will chime in about their current ownership but it has had zero effect on the quality.

The quality of warranty service might not be up to par,but I've never had a problem.

I love my #glycinecombatsub GL0083. It wears well, has a great sapphire crystal, a #sellita SW200 Swiss movement, and classic good looks. Oh, and I paid $260 before tax!

Good starter Swiss watch brand. The Airman has some heritage as the first GMT. The Combat Sub is good value by all accounts.

·

Generally I like them. I’ve only had one, but it was fine. I rate Glycine higher than Citizen and higher then Bulova. I’d put them about level with Tissot or Certina. IMO

I had a Glycine Combat Sub with a blue dial and Arabic numerals. Great specifications for the price and very good looking. I ended up returning it because I didn't connect to it, but I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a solid dive watch. Great entry into Swiss watches.

Great looking military watches with solid specs!

I have this same watch and just love it. Also looking to get a Combat 6 or Combat 7 too. Perhaps eventually a 1914 Bienne.

I have 2 Combat Subs and both of them have treated me well for years. No complaints and they have iconic designs.

·

Great watches with heritage but don't pay retail, they are on sale a lot.

·

They are fine. I have their Airman No. 1 and it's one of my best.

They are also fairly priced.

The Airman is an underrated classic.

Good starter Swiss watch brand. The Airman has some heritage as the first GMT. The Combat Sub is good value by all accounts.

Actually it's a myth that the Airman was the first GMT - in 1925, nearly 50 years prior to the Airman, Longines produced a watch that displayed two time zones with an additional indicator for “Zulu Time,” (GMT or UTC+0).

That's where the name of their Spirit Zulu Time GMT comes from.

The Airman is a fine watch - an underrated one imo - and they were the progenitors of their specific 24hr dial and rotating 24hr bezel method of displaying two time zones - but not the first watch to display two time zones.

I have multiple Glycine from Combat Sub to Airmen. They are great pieces especially for their value. F&F is very good. Can go wrong with them.

·

Great bang💥 for buck 💵. I’ve got a full black combat quartz chronograph which just keeps going and thinnest chronograph I own. Also have airman no. 1 which has a great retro vibe but the glass is actually a plastic scratch magnet.

·

Great value for money, when Invicta bought Glycine the thought was “well there goes the quality control of Glycine.” Just the opposite, the employees at Glycine stepped up and increased QC as if to say “Don’t mess with a Swiss watch brand.”

·

They are great - I have 2 Combat Subs. Here is another discussion thread about them https://www.watchcrunch.com/WatchesWitHalsey/posts/glycine-watches-curious-228163

I love my Glycine watches...I just acquired my third, which won't officially become part of the collection until next Thursday, when Hanukkah begins, though it'salready on its new bracelet. Expect an NWA post from me about it then. Sneak preview (new one is on left):
