Blue vibes ๐
I know a lot of watch enthusiasts can't stand the idea of having a Hardlex Crystal. And I've seen a lot of modded SKXs.
No beef with modded watches & modding community, but I'm just very glad that I haven't done anything to this baby diver.
Having said that, I would love to get another SKX and mod it. As long as I get to keep 1 as original as possible ๐

Amazing photo!!! And an amazing watch!
Always wanted one, but I have immense disdain for the 7S26 movement. I am currently making a super SKX013. It will appear as a stock SKX013 with OEM dial, bezel, and bezel insert, yet will have sapphire and an NH36A โ providing hack and hand-winding
Yeah, I haven't had any problems with my mineral crystal watches either. (Two out of three work watches are mineral crystal, and i do a fair bit of bangy work with them)
Excellent choice! An SKX013 was the first Seiko I ever bought and my first purchase from Marc Frankel's Long Island Watches. Both have been a great experience.
A movement and crystal swap is more an upgrade than a mod and do not change the look of them. The cheaper homage brands come standard that way.
Awesome watch! I love my stock SKX
Autoliked for SKX013.
I am literally more likely to wear my Steeldive Willard over my Seiko PADI diver simply because the Hardlex crystal just makes the watch look cheap.
Same!
I have an unmodded SKX007 that I really like BUT Iโve been trying to track down a good condition 013 for a while now. I think Iโd like that size a bit more.
I gave my SKX013 to my daughter as an introduction to watches, and she loves it. She now has the watch bug and has quite a little collection. Enjoy that SKX, its a great fun piece.
Edit: just checked out your youtube channel. Very professional. Well done.
Such a cool design. Future classic for sure. Congrats
As much as I like mods is as much as I donโt care for it according to the piece some mods looks outstanding while others takes away from the beauty of the piece imo however, this particular SKX is a beauty without the mod imo of course also I like your combo great choice in strap!
It remains on my listโฆjust need to pull the trigger

Mineral scratches easier, but less likely to crack. Hardlex has the advantage that scratches can be polywatched away, has even more impact resistant than Glass or Sapphire.
Now that is a great looking watch!
Nice catch and agree with not modding the watch!
Unmodded as well. SKX011j.
Unmodded as well. SKX011j.
Wear my 011j most of my work week and I run machines and do underground plumbing ..it's really hard to scratch the crystal with the way the bevel on it slopes near the bezel..great design..
Somebody must do marketing photos cause I want to buy one now๐คฃ๐๐พ

Thank you!

Nice! It was my first 'proper' watch

Same,I bet the hell out of my luminox.crystal still looks good after20 years.SKX does too,but thatโs an occasional weekender.

Thanks for sharing.didnโt know that.

Iโve heard about the aesthetic differences between mineral and sapphire crystals. Probably something I need to see in person.
Good idea, the only thing I change is the strap ๐
