Anyone else here mark special occasions in your life with a watch? I do... not all of them, but most of my best, most expensive, most historic watches are markers of an important moments of my life that I don't want to forget. I'll never sell these four because of what they mean.
My Seamaster 300 is to mark the birth of my daughter
My Milgauss was a wedding gift to myself
My Sub was to mark the sale of my business a few years ago
My Overseas was to mark a major milestone in my new business a year ago (becoming profitable for the first time)
What are some of your "Marker" watches?

BB58in memory of my Mum who died summer 22.
Hydroconquest for my Dad who died last month.
My wedding watch is a vintage Hamilton from the 1940s, chosen by my wife. That's probably the biggest one.
This was for the hamster’s birthday.
I got my Aqua Terra when I made partner at my firm. I got a Monta Noble when I was promoted to Executive Director (I would have gotten a more "luxury" piece, but the promotion was unexpected, came without an immediate bonus, and I refuse to go in debt to buy a watch).
I think we are going to have a corporate event here soon that might have me come into a bit of money, so I'm contemplating if that is a good excuse to buy another nice piece. I can convince myself into anything, lol.
All of my watches mark the arrival of a new watch.
Other than that -no.

Awe man, my dad used to wear a Hydroconquest I gave him for many years before he died. It's a treasured one, I won't even wear it (I keep it in my safe.) The plan is get it serviced in a few years and then give it to my son when he is old enough. Keeping it safe until then. ❤
Seamaster as a treat to myself when my son was born. Needed a diver after all I proved how well I can swim.
Bulova I got for my wedding.
Longines Grande Vitesse I got to mark getting my second COVID vaccine.
Seagull 1963 to celebrate getting over COVID.
G-Shock GA-2100 I got and modified to wear up in Alaska on a trip to see the Northern Lights.
I got married, had two kids and got an OK job before I got into watches.
Maybe I'll get a commemorative watch when my kids let me sleep every night for a whole week, one can only dream. Or not, because they've woken me up...
I consider these ones I would ever part with as they have come to my life during a life event. Casio Edifice bought a year after my brother passed on his birthday, The Starking I wore on my son's wedding. The Orient when my daughter and I went to see "Hamilton"

My Dad didn't wear one (I have his old watches). I bought this to mark his passing.

Haha. I feel your pain man. Sleep is worth it’s weight in gold right now.
Bought this on the grey market before all the hype and COVID to celebrate my retirement after 39yrs
I have and I wish I hadn’t because tastes change and I used the events as an excuse to get poorly researched and under-considered cheap watches. Now I’m “stuck” with stuff I don’t really care for but can’t get rid of.
I got this one for my oldest daughter's wedding. I even had a strap made by master leather smith @Jericho
Nah. I have a couple watches that are special for different reasons however I’ve never had a moment in life where my thought is I need another watch! Saying that I’d probably get a Speedmaster for my wedding day
Vintage constellation for my bday today! Aquis when I finished my masters. The rest are mental gymnastics to justify a purchase 😆.
Yes but i cant use that excuse anymore 🤪
