Over the years I have flirted with different styles of watches. I have divers, chronographs and watches with complications in my collection. I love them all, but there is three watch designs that I have kept closest to my heart. Three quite simple watches which I believe is the key for my fascination.
The ones on my top three is in order Omega Constellation Pie Pan version. Here illustrated with my favourite ref 168.005 (or 167.005 for the no date version). My 2nd place is occupied by the Universal Geneve Polerouter. There are so many variations of this seemingly simple design. Finally in 3rd place I put the Rolex DateJust.
Of the 3 I think it is fair to say that the Datejust is the design that stod up to the test of time the best. Still to be found in the same 36mm size with but a more contemporary package.
The closest iteration for the Pie Pan is of course the Globemaster of today. But it is quite a strech to claim it is basically the same watch but in latest iteration. The Polerouter has no modern equivalent right now but Breitling’s recent purchase of Universal Geneve give hope of a new Polerouter coming.
Do you have an all time favourite design, or top three even?

First
Adore that dial
Second
Just love that case shape!
Third
My Mrs Ballon Bleu
Love Cartier, wouldn't wear one myself as I'm not sophisticated enough (grebo biker) but can admire vicariously.
Classic Seamaster👌And your Mrs seems to have a fine taste as well! Thank you for sharing!
Field, Chronograph, Diver
Field, Chronograph, Diver
Excuse my ignorance, which one is that?
Chronographs, Divers and Fliegers ... in no particular order ...
If we're talking "in isolation" then the Navitimer is probably my favourite watch design.
But it's too big for me to wear. I also quite like Ming, seems to be one of the rare instances where a young brand has their own design language and identity.
And then there is of course the Ebel design which I think is really cool. I think rounded bands and cases make much more sense, comfort wise.

Ming really stands out on their own. ”Simple” but unique with a strong DNA. Thank you for sharing!
3 Watches: Submariner/Diver ; Tank/Dress ; G-Schock/Beater
I have always loved the shape of the nautilus but as that’s unrealistic I settled on a Glashutte seventies panorama date which I own and love possibly my favourite watch.
I love the Lange 1. The asymmetry is odd but works incredibly well. Again very expensive I’m strongly considering the GO panoreserve as an equivalent.
From a more sporty perspective I love the Rolex sea dweller. The bigger beefier brother to the sub, far less common and the mark I in particular is one of my favourites.
Diver, field and chronograph.

Great choises👌You don’t have to own your favourite designs. I happen to have a soft spot for vintage designs and they are achievable👍
Crosshair linen dial | Dauphine hands

Probably my favorite 3.
The Swordfish sea, The Skyraider air, and The Aurora field.
You shure know how to handle the camera and the light👌 Thank you for sharing!
Love your 3 Per! Very Classy my friend 🧡
I quite liked this "analysis" and I am afraid that he might be on point. These won't probably be cheap 😉 but we can hope!

Unsure of the order, but definitely these 3 as a top 3.
My top three watch designs are
OMEGA Speedmaster (what I think of when someone mentions a chronograph)
Rolex Explorer (legible and iconic field watch design)
Cartier Tank (the dress watch that lasted for over a century)

Great line up👍
Would you please share the strap details for the blue seiko strap? It looks great!
It's cool, right? The material is tweed wool. Got it from our local e-commerce platform similar to AliExpress.
Something rectangular
Something round (without numerals)
And then with numerals.
