A dial color not out of the blue
I think It’s fair to say that a blue dial is no longer a nice change to the black and silver dials in my collection. I used to motivate a blue dial as an accent to spice things up. It now has become a staple. No wonder they added up over the years. It’s a perfect color under the radar and I normally wear white, blue or denim shirts. To me that is a perfect companion for a blue dial.
I have added some other colors like brown, green and salmon. But I don’t think they ever will turn into a staple color for me. Do you have a go to color outside black and silver?
I realised that the blue dials had taken up a significant part of the collection. So I decided to let them all join a family photo. Please note the effort put in setting time and date, to an otherwise technically crappy picture.👍
I collect new as well as vintage. I have a weak spot for 50s and 60s Omegas. Besides from those I consider myself allround.

I wear a lot of red which contrasts with blue, so black, white & red are my preferred dial colors.

Looks the part👌 Thank you for sharing. Silver/White is a staple to me too. One of my favourites is the Seiko SARB035. The cream dial is never out of place.

Kudos definitely on the time and date setting … but the second hands need a little more work 😉

Orange is an fantastic accent color. Thank you for sharing. When I bought my Seiko GMT the orange was already out of the window.

Thank you for your kind words🙏 The Polaris is an perfect example on how I lean towards blue. I went into the boutique with the ambition to buy a preloved black dial. To increase my quota of toolieness. Came out with the blue.

Wow a great collection. I love blue dials. Clearly because there is such versatility, variety and they don’t stand out too much.
My favourite colour is grey which I find a relatively inoffensive colour and I’ve seen some really attractive grey dials in my time.

If I recall, blue dials are historically the most popular modern dial color.
Guess blue was the new black. Then orange was the new black (great show and am currently binge watching it).
Then green was the new black. Still think it is. Purple had a go the last year but is just too niche a color. Same for yellow.

I believe it’s so. But blue isn’t common on early vintage either to my knowledge.
