New watch alert!

Just got this beautifully brutal tool watch.
The Tudor Pelagos black dial. Unapologetic and the antithesis of some of the shiny ceramic modern divers on the market. (I have nothing against the shiny watches they are just not for me)

Love to see your tool watches…

Beautiful!  I thought about Pelagos, but ultimately went with:

I’ve had one for about 3 months and I can safely say it is my favourite watch. You get to love it more over time. Wear it in good health.

·

Huge congrats ! The two liner pelagos was my first luxury watch that I bought myself. It`s the best toolwatch !

I have quite a few watches, this is the most toolwatch of all of them. Love the matt black and the bright white. Such a wonderful contrast. Loving it!

·

I can't buy a tool watch from Tudor or Rolex without feeling like a tool.

·

A magnificent watch and one of my most accurate ones, too

Congratulations!

I hear you! Especially the bracelet - it`s the best on the market! Even the ones of Rolex or Vaccheron aren`t better. The spring int he pelagos clasp is the best !

Congratulations on your new purchase! I'm sure you would love and enjoy the watch like I do. Got the LHD version and it has been pure pride and safisfaction for me. 🥰

·

Looks great👍Congratulations!

·

Congratulations lee, very nice piece. I love my Tudors

·

Imma be real with You chief. This is one beutiful watch but its hard for me to classify it as a mere tool watch since it costs more than average car here.  Still awesome tho!

Fair point..well made. I guess it’s all relative. (I did buy this one pre owned at a fraction of retail price)

Are you calling me a tool..🤔

Not at all.  I am the one who has problems with their business practices, lack of watchmakers, lack of innovation, short supplies, high MSRP, nasty Authorized Dealers, crazy marketing and appeal to snobs who know nothing about watches except that Rolex impresses people.

·

Amazing watch! One day I’m going to get one too. For now I got myself the budget version. Also in full titanium.

I have been debating on this one. What do you think? What size is it?

I was only joking… I feel the same about Rolex to be honest, I chose this Pelagos because it has its own identity which isn’t an homage to the Submariner like most modern dive watches. Plus I really appreciate the matt finish in a world of shiny tool watches.

It’s down as a 42mm but the case is closer to 41mm (the bezel over hangs the case) It is quite tall but because it’s titanium it doesn’t sag or wobble on the wrist.

I have the Seamaster gmt which is also 42mm and this feels smaller on my wrist (the Seamaster is thinner and heavier)

People say they are too tall, but I have chronographs that are taller.

One last thing…titanium is somehow warmer than steel, both in colour and actual temperature too. Feels great on the wrist.

I really like it. It’s not the smallest watch (43 or 44mm I believe) but the titanium keeps it really comfortable.

Nice! I've been on the fence with this one. I love the dial but I'm having a hard time with the bracelet clasp. I've also looked at the FXD. Alas, I'll eventually pick up a Tudor, but I don't know which one. This is the one I keep going back to. Decisions, Decisions.....

The clasp is great! Is it the mechanism you are unsure of, or the pictograms on the clasp itself?

The fxd is lovely, but it doesn’t come in matt black.

Whichever you choose I’m sure you will be happy with, the lume is amazing, the titanium is light but not too light as it can be with some titanium watches.
Let me know if you need any photos of the clasp etc

cheers Joe

Thanks for the offer, I may need to simply check one out in person. But really, It's the pictograms on the clasp and that hole. I don't know why but it bugs me. I like the BB 58s clasp, but what I realized is, I need to try new things. I LOVE the dial and links and the titanium is cool. I may say "screw it" and make the jump, after the big Rolex purchase later this year.
