An #nwa for today; a working #vintage Elbon with a faceted crystal.

26mm wide; 36mm long; 11mm with crystal, 8mm without.

Probably originally marketed as a ladies piece, but the art deco style with sub-seconds is something I was looking for.

Ah, sweet, Todd. I've been waiting on you showing off this one. It looks in pretty good condition and Art deco is always a winner in my books.

I don't know about it being a ladies piece though. Both my tanks are 23mm, so 26mm sounds pretty manly to me. Don't worry, you'll soon get used to the size and it will feel normal before long 🤓

Underrated style. And a refreshing change from all the domed and flat crystals on display IMO.

Yeah, I forget sometimes that watches were all around smaller 80-100 years ago.

Very nice Todd! Vintage watches are a different species altogether. Looks like a vintage man's watch to me.

·

Very nice!

Not a ladies watch at all. It was made for manly men. Elbon is not an unknown name. It is related to this of mine:

How exactly it is related is murky: Elbon, Louis Adeis, Winton, Nicolet, Marc Nicolet, Le Marc.

It should house a Swiss movement (round). It should date to the 1930's.
