So, made it to Vegas and into the Swatch Boutique.
Here's what I found out...
The SA said he gets a shipment almost every day and the entire shipment is usually gone in a few hours.
He did not have a Mission To Uranus in stock, but I will try tomorrow. CC @Ichibunz
They do not allow you to try on sellable models, but... He had a defective one he allowed me to try on. As you can see... missing button.
I put it on and promptly put it on backwards because the strap IS backwards from how it should be, IMO.
The SA even told me if I get a MoonSwatch to get a different strap & showed me 4 examples. As I didn't see any straps he could sell me, I took this as unbiased advice.
After trying it on, my faux Moonwatch ownership experience will likely be a Pagani Design version sometime next year.
The MoonSwatch hype is over for me.
RIP MoonSwatch

Interestingly, I don't wear my Jupiter much, but I don't regret buying it.
The MoonSwatch really isn't a "value" watch, but it has a certain as the French would say "I don't know what".
I’ve lost all interest in it at this point, especially considering the price.
That's an interesting selling pitch, here you are sir here's one that someone brought back after 2 minutes of wearing, what should have been said here you are this is the prototype of the swoonmatch gen 2 minimalist, its lighter, greener and no one uses the chrono functions anyway(the hands fall off), and its yours for only 3 times retail of the gen 1 model. Sorry to hear the hype is over for you,do you know that since this post has been up the share price of omega and swatch has dropped 10 points, such is the power of social media.
Thank You! my friend for asking for me!! 🍻
damn, its crazy the sales allow you to try the defective one. its a big turnoff for every potential buyer
The upside, you know a speedy suits you well.
FWIW, so far I'm having a fairly positive experience with the Phylida Speedy homage -- I'm not wearing it yet as it's a holiday gift to myself, but I am keeping it wound up daily to confirm that it's in working order during the AliExpress dispute period, and it's keeping better time than I expected.

I think at this point, the MoonSwatch is the hypest of watches.
Specs to price, there's no reason to own one, but masses of people still want one

Yeah I found that odd

Specs aren't everything. If specs were as important as people say, we'd all have HAQ watches...
The MoonSwatch gives you an Omega authorized homage, that is also a fun, and colourful watch. It also supports a business that innovates, rather than just copy other's homework as well.

And this is why watches are so fascinating.

That one is also on my radar

You have to keep an eye out on Ali for it...they sell out quickly when they come into stock. If I see it back in stock I will DM you.
It’s good that you were able to try it on before impulse buy.
I think the Mission to Mars is a good option for people who want a watch that is red. Other than that I find it hard to choose a moonswatch over other options out there

Even then, I got a watch that is red for $25, 1/10th the price. It has more functions, of a better quality & will last longer than a MoonSwatch.
I think the Timex Q or the Pagani are a way better option. I absolutely Love the Pagini Designs "moon" watch I just got. The bracelet is okay but very sharp on the edges. Swapped it out to a leather strap.
With a discount code I only paid 89.00, Seiko VK63 mechaquartz, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, the experience of not spending over 100.00 Priceless!
Lol sorry to see how it all pan out in the end. This Moon Swatch for sure would of been a great Christmas seller if they only planed and done it right. Respect to those that have one or wants to own one. I tried one myself I was not impressed by it. Just the looks is fine but overall everything else and for that price💸 I'll pass!

Yeah, I was not impressed at all.
Fun watch for maybe $100, but not for what they are asking.

I don't think they will want to improve it or even price reduce it.
