Comes in well under your budget, I love the dial, was a little worried about legibility when I bought it but it’s very easy to read. Only problem is that it’s a little hard to get hands on with it first.

Buy slightly used and get a Carrera or Speedmaster. Those are the two best chronos throughout history IMO.
Well under 5k the Delma Montego is definitely a chronograph option to explore

You can get a preowned Breitling Chronomat for $5k or just above depending on dial color. That would be my choice.

This Longines Full Calendar Chrono is still under 5k. Thinking I should wear it more than I do.
I don’t have a ton of experience with chronos, but I absolutely love my Tudor BB Chrono.
