Last of My Dad's Valuables

So, my dad passed away in 2017. I was scheduled to travel up to Chicago and cook for him on a weekend. At the time, I was working for Enterprise Car Rental. Just about one hour prior to being off and driving to Chicago, my mom told me that he had a massive heart attack and died. And as anyone would imagine, I was devastated!

Fast forwarding, vultures came in and wipe the leftovers clean and I was left with an obituary and the shirts that I bought him that he never got to wear. That was until recently. My mom now lives with me and as I helped move her in, she went into her purse an put this watch in my hand.

See, my dad was a Seiko and Timex guy, but the piece you see here was his everyday, so the thing is, every soul that ravaged through his belongings failed to obtain the one thing I saw him wear daily for years! They can have the suits and his hats, my dad loved this watch and this is the very piece he taught me how to tell time on. I miss him daily, but I get to remember him through time!

Sorry to hear about his passing. I am going to leave my daughter all of my watches. I am happy to hear his spirt lives on on your wrist. He’s happy your wearing it I am sure and you will see him again one day

·

May you enjoy all good memories every time you wear it

This is the best post I have seen on this forum. You know what is truly important and I appreciate this beautiful reminder 👏👏👏

That’s wonderful. In the end, watches are just instruments that tell time. But the stories that go into them are what make them special.

Sorry to hear brother. I lost my dad in April of last year. Heart attack as well. And his citizen watch is now one of my most prized possessions.

It's a challenge to go through and heartbreaking when you hear of others that experience that type of loss. Many blessings to you and wear that priceless timepiece in great health 💪

We'll said, thank you👊

Sorry for your loss, enjoy and cherish every time you will read on it, and wear it knowing your dad did the same. I Wish you and your family many more great times and memories while you wears it. 🙌

·

That's really rough. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my brother over 20 years ago when I was young and one of the three of his I have, is his "Sunday" watch. Time pieces are something special.

·

Wear it with pride.

·

Yep, look after that one for sure. Bit of PolyWatch on that crystal will sort it. It's a cool watch too.

·

Wow what a special piece to have! Glad it’s in your possession instead of the vultures. Beautiful watch with even better significance

This post hits home and I’m glad that you were able to keep a piece of him with you. I just dropped off my grandfather’s 1964 Timex Viscount to get restored (it isn’t running). He beat that thing up and even though I never knew him (he died about a year before I was born) I love having this piece of him that my Mom remembers him wearing every day. Cheers to the men who we miss dearly.

That’s a dope #vintage piece for numerous reasons

Absolutely beautiful. Losing your Dad is heartbreaking. I've been there too and feel your pain 💔

·

A beautiful watch and a wonderful treasure chest of memories

You have a watch there that few of us could ever hope to own, the most valuable watch in the world as I'm guessing you wouldn't exchange it for any other watch on the planet. Sorry for you loss.
