Ah agreed. Regarding the clomages; sure they are more honest in that sense. A couple colleagues of mine bought clomages for the exact reason. Good quality copies of a certain look they love. The Pagani watch being one of them. They are nice quality watches for the price. I wonder how they are not being sued by the swiss companies, but thats a different topic 😉
Interesting article, although I'm wondering how you're judging the premise. You start with the topic of authenticity. But at the end the article closes with an assesment of honesty, or watches that don't hide what they are.
The way I look at authenticity is, can a brand bring something original to the table, based on for example dial design or colors, or case design etc.
There's another thing to be said of how honest a watch is in the sense of price vs quality and the manufacturing process. But it's a different topic, the way I see it.
If you're asking, what do I prefer? It's still the swiss watches because of proven quality standards.
