I have the Santos and an Aqua Terra Small Seconds. You can’t go wrong with either one. They are both great watches. I might lean towards the Aqua Terra because it is so durable. The polished bezel on the Santos is a scratch magnet. The Aqua Terra is more of a go anywhere/do anything. You can dress it up or down. The Santos is more refined and dressy. You can easily switch out to a more casual strap, but the Roman numeral dial always looks dressy.
A few thoughts on this. Disclaimer: I am pro-Britt and have long thought Oisin is a scoundrel.
First, Britt admits that she did not respond to the Nomadic guy for over a month. Not great, but she wasn’t ghosting him and did not give the watch away. Sounds like life took priority over her YouTube hobby. Not great, but she has taken responsibility for it, and is making things right with the Nomadic guy. My take: Oisin is making a mountain over a molehill.
Second, Oisin has done much worse. A few months ago, there was a big YouTube controversy because Oisin had refused to return watches that he had borrowed to review. In one case, he had a guy’s watches (Seiko mods) for over a year and wouldn’t return them. He even did a drunken live stream in which he claimed he was doing the other guy a favor by not returning the watch (supposedly Bogart’s watch) so that the guy wouldn’t have to pay import taxes. That’s not just bs, it’s incoherent bs. It’s like saying, I didn’t steal your car; I’m just trying to save you gas money. My take: Oisin is making an issue over Britt’s failure to respond to the Nomadic guy for a month in order to deflect from the credibility hits he took a few months ago over a similar (but much worse) issue.
Third, if you watch Oisin’s videos, you see that he’s belligerent and cantankerous. He’s always having a feud with someone, and it’s always their fault. My take: he likes the drama—either because it attracts viewers, or because he’s a belligerent Irishman (and I say that because I come from a family of them).
Fourth, some of his comments, especially about the “girl’s” religion, are over the top and not appropriate under any circumstances.
My final take: Oisin helped Britt’s channel when she had less than 1,000 subscribers, and now she’s growing much, much faster than him, and will probably over take him in the next few months. Methinks someone is jealous.
I have two Rolexes (a Datejust and an Explorer) and three Omegas (a Speedmaster, a Seamaster, and an AquaTerra). I think Omega is, at least, equivalent in quality, and may have a very slight edge over Rolex. I give Rolex an edge in bracelet quality since I think oyster bracelets are the best on the market, and since Omega is only just starting to make microadjusting bracelets. But when you factor in the price difference, Omega is a much better value overall.
I have a 7.5 inch wrist and routinely wear everything from a 36mm Explorer to a 45mm Panerai Radiomir. I think variety is the key to a collection. Sometimes I want something small that disappears on the wrist. Sometimes I want something big that makes a statement. Just like I would never want a collection of only black dial watches, I would never want a collection consisting of only 41+ mm.
My wife has a Tank Must that we bought on the bracelet. She got tired of it pretty quickly, so she getting a custom leather strap made in Cartier Red. I usually prefer to buy on the bracelet, but the Tank might be the exception to the rule.
