I am seriously conflicted about my next watch purchase/desire. It’s a toss up between the Tropical dial Smiths , A CWC Quartz or the new Lorier Astra in White dial variant. Which would you guys choose and why ? Please just these three , I am confused enough lol

I’d go for the Lorier personally…design looks fantastic! It does seem to toe more dressy as a sports watch, but I find the “Quartz” and “Commando” text respectively on the other two too large where it sort of distracts from the rest of the dial. Just my .02 tho…all great choices!

I'd take the CWC, for the simple reason that it's a perfect grab-and-go watch. If you're into the heritage angle, it actually has some as well.

If your heart is set on an automatic, then I'd take the Lorier over the Smiths. Something about Smiths just rubs me the wrong way...

Astra has gone straight on my shopping list for this year. Been thinking about a Lorier for a while and there's a few I'd like but this has gone straight to the top of the list.

The hour hand on that Lorier is comically short.

I can live with it , no such thing as perfect if your OCD is as bad as mine with watches :)

Me, I’d go with the Lorier. It’s between that and the Smiths really, the CWC is just too different to be compared. The Smiths has a more interesting case and that’s it. I like the dial and the bracelet and the handset on the Astra more. Gut says as a daily GADA (which it would be for me) go with the Astra.

All 3 watches have different design aesthetics. So, decide on which captivates you the most.

As a current owner of the Lorier Falcon S3 I’d say you can’t go wrong with the Astra. Packed in a 36mm size and with a date window at 6. It would be the perfect GADA watch out of the three.

I’d go with the Smiths (if you could get one), but probably not that Smiths. Given that you have the CWC as one of your potential picks, I’d suggest you take a look at the PRS-29A, which is a reissue of the Smiths W10. I’ve had this watch on my list for a while now, but the difficulties in getting one have been insurmountable, and other pieces have bumped it down the line.

Personally would go with the Lorier. If heritage is important to you, then the CWC. The Smith probably would hold its value more though and take a beating easier than the rest. Whatever your choice, enjoy in good health!
