After a long day of work I was wondering does anyone else wear their best/most expensive watch for work?

I work in steel/construction and wear my MMI turret 300m diver every day. The sellita sw200 movement is holding up well after 2 years of daily abuse. Am I aline in the if you paid for it you might as well use it.

I tend to wear all of my watches. However, some divers just don't work with a dress shirt. There are some "fun watches" I also don't wear at work, so you won't see me in a suit with a G-Shock.

Otherwise, price is not really a consideration, as I work mostly in an office, behind several levels of security.

I work in an engineering office, so scratches and scuffs aren't really an issue. However, I work with some pretty strong EM fields, so magnitisation is a real possibility.

·

I’m in between office and field construction so I plan my watch accordingly.

·

My daily office wear is the Santos. Fits in perfectly. Had a few compliments from colleagues and clients as well.

·

I work in a restaurant and my watch will get wet, even fully submerged, it’ll get whacked on some metal shelving from time to time too. That being said I wear all of my watches to work with the exception of my one very old 1950s Certina. My watch is very much a work tool.

·

me wear a second hand g shock on my belt loop under 2 layers of PPE on the job. this is because i could not wear the PPE effectively with a watch on my wrist.

working i can see the time in one of about 3 locations at any time, on break i use my own.

·

I wear a sea dweller or gmt master 90% of the time regardless of the situation.

·

I'm a general construction superintendent. I'm in the office and field everyday. I wear what's on my wrist that day. Some I might say have some nice watches. They all get worn.

·

GMT Grand Seiko for work every day as although I work in the UK I have colleagues in the US. I don't like wearing anything else during work, because I don't want people to think I'm a watch dork with lots of watches or to think I'm flexing 😂

·

Depends on work and occasion. I work in office and wear what I want, on more casual days even the beaters. If my job would be manual labour with high possibility of scratches I would definitely avoid wearing more expensive watches to work. I never baby a watch, they all have traces of use but also don't put them in unnecesary jeopardy of damaging it.

A and C.

If I work in construction and do hands-on stuff, then I’d wear a nice G-Shock.

Luckily (or not?) I work in an office so can wear whatever I please 😃

Exact same for me. I split between office and field work so it depends on where the day takes me.

If I had a GS I’d be flexin all the time! 🌈 that’s a grail watch 💪

I'm into robust/sportswatches, so not really a problem 😀

·

My most valuable watches are vintage so I tend to treat them carefully.

·

I work in aviation as a mechanic so I seem to have accumulated a large selection of "beater" watches- luminox, timex, mwc and of course G-shocks. Couldnt imagine wearing my more expensive watches spannering!

·

I wear my cool as f**k G-Shock which has multiband 6, s/watch, timer, alarms, world time and solar charging and can be replaced for £79.

For me and my lifestyle every watch has a time and place and selecting the right watch for every occasion is part of the fun. This does mean some of my watches get more wrist time than others but that’s okay by me!

·

I wear my best/most expensive predominantly when I need to illustrate a show of force due to the industry of work I am in lol

·

Some of mine are too blingy for work, I work in a office/ laboratory and getting scratches is a possibility too - my daily seems to be a citizen Attesea Jounetsu which goes under the radar, I think. I think most people in the office couldn't give two hoots about what anyone is wearing

·

I choose D: “I don’t work.” So, I wear whatever I want! 🤘😉🙌

·

I Work in retail in recieving. So im lifting boxes pallets and doing alot of moving. Ive worn nearly all my watches but i do have preferences. My gshocks, nodus omega swc formex.

·

I Work in a warehouse moving boxes on a forklift. So, I don't wear any watch other than a G shock at work. If I go back to my previous career, I'll wear nice watches to the office.

·

Watches are for wearing, but not for destructive testing. I work in an office so I have the option to wear anything stress free. If I know that I am going to be doing something (like wrenching on the car) that will damage my watch I just take it off.

·

I used to wear a after work watch, but with the discovery of Chinese homage watches, I now have a fake submariner (casio duro with jubilee bracelet), A fake Air King (pagani design), a fake aqua terra (pagini design again), and some sort of pilot watch chronograph thing (Casio Edifice with slide rule) on rotation. Any one of my actually nice watches costs the same as all four work watches combined. ($500 to $600 currently)

·

I generally work from home. And when not at home, it’s an office. So, I can wear any watch I my collection.

·

I wear my 300 regardless. It’s taken a few hits but scars make the best stories. If I know I am going to do something that might damage it I will take it off but accidents happen.

Got to show them what's up! 😂

·

I run a Vape shop so wear whatever I want to, generally an Omega.

·

D: impossible to wear one while working
