SOTC from your resident cheap boi

!! WARNING !! This post contains lots of homages, we all have our opinion of them and if you're here to diss me about it you can keep your comments to yourself.

So this is my SOTC as of today the 13/07/2022, all my watches are there, I try to keep a semblance of organization. I would present them with their reference but I'm lazy so just ask if you want to know the reference of any watch. I will call them by the affectionate name I've given them, from right to left, top to bottom. Okay, here we go, first box:

Image

-The Richard Ten

-The G-shock

-The Square G-shock

-The Air-Joker

-The Sixtygauss

-The Explored

-The Citizen

-The trusty Casio

-The dressy Casio

-The Commoner Oak

-The Field Vostok

Okay, 1 down, 3 to go, box 2:

Image

-The Seiko

-The better Citizen

-The custom subby

-The Muppet Subby

-The yacht-servant, or, the skip-master

-The Certina

-The Planet-pond chrono

-The gray-bay

-The green Vostok

-The gold one

-The Invicta

-The FAT Invicta

Alright, 2 left, box 3:

Image

-The GMT

-The Timex GMT

-The diver Casio

-The old Certina

-The tritium one

-The Paul Oldman

-The Date-ona

-The slowmaster, or, the speedservant

-The accurist

-The Renault chrono

-The rotary (I didn't find anything with navitimer)

And finally, box 4:

Image

-The Seitos, or, the sanko

-The Beside

-The Portugeezer

-The wooden one

-The Palmy one

-The datewrong

-The violinni

-The complex one

-The pretty Vostok

-The Pain-awry

So those are all my watches, they all get worn eventually during the year, whenever I'm home, I sometimes think I have too many and then I just go "eh" And wear one anyway

I like seeing wooden watches in watch boxes.  To me, it demonstrates open-mindedness and flexibility.  It may also just have been a gift. If you had worn that for 30 days I would have sent you a generic Swiss from the "old and barely keep time" personal stash.

It was indeed a gift from my parents, I rarely wear it because it's very fragile, especially now that it's summer and I'm very sweaty, but the strap is amazingly comfortable.

Vary nice collection bro!!

·

i like them. you got all the bases covered and did not break the bank doing it. nice!

·

I think it looks like a great collection. Well done.

·

Nice, well-rounded collection!

·

Great collection! Great variety and some really interesting pieces. I'm quite neutral on homages so nothing negative from me and I'm a big casio, Vostok and Citizen fan so spent a while looking at those!

I was eyeing some new casios, still haven't decided, a new Vostok too but with the current situation I'm feeling a bit eh, and for citizen the models that interest me are a bit off budget right now.

·

I started with the amphibia as my first automatic last October. I already had a couple of Citizen eco drives and gave collected a couple more. I had no intention of collecting casios but find myself drawn to them as I wore lots in the 80s and 90s!

Even if someone did try to diss, so what!? Buy what YOU like. Watch collecting is all subjective. What others don’t like, others love. It’s YOUR life & YOUR style! Own it!

I believe that there is something intriguing about everyone‘s taste/style. Things each individual likes/dislikes gives us a little more insight about them. Especially if they are doing what you did by inviting us to view their SOTC. It’s an honor for people to open up like this & let people see the things their into. Nice collection!

Solid stuff, that "Sixtygauss" tho 👌

·

Brilliant!  I’m not a homage guy but giving them hilarious names warms me to the idea

Worst case you'll end up with a decent watch that looks okay for under 100
