What Watch was your last impulse purchase?

Throw out all the logic and rules about Watch buying discussed at length.

So I was drinking some Vodka one night and browsing the Casio website. I saw this watch on sale and thought to myself "I've bought bottles of wine for more than that" and went for it. The next morning, I got a ship notification and was like oh yeah I did that.

Zero regrets

I’ve bought a few watches from eBay with no other info aside from the eBay listing, and in the case of a Longines a bit of knowledge of the brand. Most recently I grabbed a 1952 (or so) Certina vintage tank style watch for $80 or so. It runs +5 minutes fast per day. Not great. It’s still beautiful and in great condition, and on the rare day when I opt to wear it I won’t mind the time being a bit off. At $80 I figured if it was bad, I only lost $80. Personally it is worth well more than $80 for me.

Got to be the Bambino, saw it for $135 on Amazon and I couldn't just let it slide away. I wanted a dress watch for some rare occasions and just knew Bambino would be perfect for the rare use. But it works with casual wear and has found itself a proper place in the collection.

That’s a great deal for the Bambino. I’m looking for a deal on the 38mm.

CasioOak GM2100-1A… (which I love)… the third in a flurry of late night cocktail inspired purchases. Since, I’ve learned to let them sit in my cart until morning.

The least I have seen the 38mm being sold was for $215, just the white and black dial variant. The favourite cream dial variant (out of stock most of the time) and the gold versions are usually around $250-275 still. Will be difficult to see the new models from Orient dip below $200.

Funny you should ask. I just paid for this one yesterday and it should be on my wrist by Monday. It was a total impulse buy, but it's the limited edition Timex + Todd Snyder Marlin Blackout which has sold out and is getting more difficult to locate for a reasonable price. I need another watch like I need a hole in my head, but hey, Father's Day is just around the corner isn't it?

Bargain hunting impulse buy.

I thought I was done with Seiko two watches ago. I’m obviously a hypocrite.

Didn't know what pin-pallet movements were at the time and bought this Lucerne Digital Jump Hour on an impulse. No regrets, even though it needs some oil to get running again. Once I get some oil in there, it'll see wrist time again. I got it super cheap; less than 20 USD after conversion. I think that's money well spent, seeing as a family dinner at a chain restaurant costs twice that.

·

Welp… scratch that previous comment. There I was, walking through Wal-Mart this afternoon, on my way to buy office supplies and what did I spy tucked away on the next to bottom shelf? The Casio Royale. A quick price match and a $20 bill later and this beauty is on the wrist. Thanks a lot, @SpecKTator!

I put this in my cart 5 times, and just didn't pull the trigger. It was down to $210 and now is back up to $270. Just wasn't meant to be...yet! Nice watch bro!

Mine is a 41mm, and they make a 46mm JSAR diver. It's really only the GP models that are small at 34mm.

I was looking up affordable microbrands and found an article with the name Deep Blue Watches. I browsed there website and... damn! They had some great specs for money. They just released this skeletonized diver with a NH70 movement, sapphire, helium valve and display caseback for $99... I was blown away. I'm not crazy about the skeleton dial watches but the value is there. Plus, the case is THICCC(LOL). They had a 44mm and 40mm version and I went for the 40. The case is so high the lugs are lifted, so the fitted rubber strap sits very high, but I put in on Milanese steel strap and it works. Lot of steel, but deal nonetheless.

Wow that’s crazy looking and THICC 😂. Check out Xeric, I almost pulled the trigger on the space themed dials alone, but they’re thick boys as well.

The 38mm will not go below $200 anytime soon atleast till the demand becomes low. The black and white dial variant are the lowest price you can find compared to the cream and gold.

Just have to keep an eye on Amazon, the price fluctuates all of a sudden.
