I need suggestions for an attainable Bauhaus watch

I would like an automatic, fully numeraled, white dial Bauhaus watch with a central seconds hand, preferably 38mm or smaller, for under $500. Basically what I want is a Bauhaus field watch.

If you don't have a specific piece in mind, names of brands would do nicely as well. This is the kind of watch that I know the least about, the only brand I can even name is Nomos.

Junghans Max Bill. End of... Not sure they're field watches though. But you can't get more Bauhaus than the Max Bill.

I’m sure there’s a Seiko that fits the description. Look at Sternglas. They’re sort of a more affordable Junghans.

Take a look at Braun or Sternglas 👌

Maybe a mondaine eco 2, Seiko presage cocktail and tissot t- classic

I think Loreo still make one, and maybe I'm wrong, but Rdunae as well. There used to be a Rodina on AliExpress which everyone raved about for a while, but it's not the original Rodina company who make it.

I second the Sternglas recommendation!

Used Junghans are out there around that price point - with it's Max Bill being the most widely acclaimed Bauhaus watch that I know of. Comes in various sizes, including 38mm w/date. The 35mm model is handwind and no date - and probably the purist incarnation of the Junghans Max Bill line.

Nomos

Under $500?... I wish! 🤣

As you are asking for a Bauhaus field watch... The closest thing to that is probably a flieger type A. The fliegers are not notmally considered Bauhaus, for political reasons, but the design is very much in the spirit of Bauhaus (and originates from the same period). Below is a £70 Seestern.

Third vote for Sternglas..

Good point!

I have a Sternglas Naos 38mm and love it. Also highly recommend Timex Norway (discontinued style but a Max Bill homage) if you can find one and don't mind quartz.

I can also attest to Sternglass build quality. Recommend!

Lilienthal-Berlin also has some unique looking Bauhaus-style watches, with automatics close to your price point. I have their Roaring 20s in crimson (quartz) and it's a beautiful watch.

Might be able to get a used Stowa Partitio close to that price.
