This is the vintage Timex that lives in my heart, and probably the nicest watch I'll ever own.
This is my second expensive watch: the Islander Port Jeff. It's my first unidirectional clicky bezel, and my first normal screw-down crown. It's so much more retro, and so much more reserved than I thought it would be in this color way.
With those seriously thick applied indexes with the painted stripe up them, it reminds me of a Marlin Sportster that I have (and that Lt. Columbo had.) If you've seen the episode "Old Fashioned Murder," yes the crown really is that stiff. This Islander is so much nicer, and it makes me think that this is what Timex should be doing! I know Mark's deal is way more about basically giving people better Seikos, but with these looks and the nice Miyota quietly ticking inside, doesn't this just seem more like an idealized Timex instead?
It also came on a really nice rice style bracelet AND the tool I need to adjust it (but didn't own) was in the box.
The only thing I didn't like about it right away was that chapter ring. The picture that I included at the end is actually what I used to figure it out myself so I could set the watch. I'm home from work with a migraine though, so maybe other people will have no problem.

I think I'll post a comparison pic. I also like what Timex is doing, I just think they should do more of it! I was also more commenting on the fact that this is the first Islander to make me think of Timex instead of Seiko or Rolex.
