Upgrading a watch movement

I currently own the new Squale 1545. I absolutely love everything about it minus the standard Sellita SW 200-1 movement. I would like to upgrade to th...

Paring down a watch collection

I don’t know what stage of watch collecting I am in but I would call it the “paring down” stage. I’ve hovered around 8 watches but I tend to have para...

Squale watch accuracy

Recently purchased the new Squale 1545. Love almost everything about it. 40mm, 20mm lug width, less than 48mm lug to lug, ceramic bezel, 300 meters of...

@Scorpiowatchman is correct. If it doesn’t explicitly say “In stock” like in this photo below it means they don’t actually have it. They have to source the watch and expect to ship in 1-3 business days (probably an estimate based on how easy it is for them to get the watch) but they don’t actually have the watch in stock. I’ve purchased from Jomashop twice and had no problems but avoid purchasing watches that don’t explicitly say in stock.

A non-hacking watch would drive me crazy.

To me a beater watch has less to do with price and more to do with whether a watch has rugged features and can take daily wear and tear. I consider my Hamilton Khaki field mechanical my “beater” watch. Bead blasted case on a nato and a sapphire crystal.

Update: I opened up the case back and I adjusted the regulator with a 1mm screw driver. I’m definitely a novice at tinkering with the inner workers of a mechanical watch but I was able to get the speed down to +4 seconds a day. I prefer not to open up a watch with 300 meters of water resistance and possibly messing with the integrity of the water resistant rating but I’m happy with the results.

$1k - $2k is the sweet spot for me. After that it’s just diminishing returns.

Never tried a nato strap on a dress watch but the blue and white stripe nato with the visodate actually looks good.

Love the idea of a power reserve wheel but I can’t get over the date window at 12 o’clock

First Squale watch

I’m thinking of purchasing a black dial Squale 1545 dive watch. Anyone own a Squale or this watch in particular ? What’s your experience ?
