I've had it...

Recently I posted about my ongoing issues with trying to send my Doxa Sub 300T in for warranty service. In my post I jokingly stated I'd remove the Doxa from my collection and buy the Delma Quattro I was interested in.

Well I ordered the Delma and was looking forward to having it. Until today.

I recieved an email from Delma demanding that I send them photo identification and proof of address. I've no intention of doing this and have cancelled my order.

I've had banks and credit card companies perform checks like anyone else has but this is too much.

I think given all the issues in recent months that I'm going to find a new hobby.

Edit: I've now cancelled four more watch orders and am just going to enjoy what I have.

or a Casio 😉

Quite bizarre! Assuming they aren’t extending you credit/finance I can’t see why they should do this.

Don’t let Doxa and Delma get to you - move on to the Es, so Eterna, Edox, Ebel, Eberhard & Co. …

·

How bizarre.

Reminds me of the time my retired accountant paid for a 38k cad Cartier Ballon Bleu for his lady friend with 2 credit cards, placing the order over the phone. He was instructed to bring photo id and a friend who was familiar with the business! He reached out to me, I assumed valid payment with cards should have been sufficient.

·

They emailed me claiming what they want is standard security procedures.

·

I once purchased a $20 souvenir mug from WatchFinder.ca. They also demanded personal ID and credit card picture. I felt violated.

·

Maybe it’s just “time”!

·

Perhaps try offering a blood (or other 😬) sample to them. I mean standard security of course!

I'd have done what you did. It's too easy to defraud someone when you have all their info like that.

I have ordered many things from around the world online and I was NEVER asked for additional personal info. They have all the info they need when you punch in your credit card info. It's not their job to make sure your card is stolen or not. That's the bank's or appropriate authority.

If I am ever asked to provide additional photo, proof of hom address, sin number, hop on one leg, tap my head and rub my belly.... I'm cancelling the order. Period.

Thank you. It's more odd since the credit card company had approved the transaction.

You mean they didn’t ask you for blood type, height and weight? 😂

I’m with you. Write this company off.

The funny thing is that Delma is not all that selective when it comes to selecting their sales channels. One of the reasons I have never even considered the brand.

·

You should see me trying to order anything off of Amazon to my country, photo ID upfront 💀

Buying from wrong sellers or ADs.

Buying from wrong sellers or ADs.

I ordered directly from the manufacturer. Might have done better with a reseller.

Maybe find another brand. Hate to see you giving up from very poor customer service.

I may just take a break. It's been a bad several months and the hobby isn't enjoyable at the moment.
