Rolex no date Sub over £8k MSRP!!

Seems like Oisin O Malley has the new 2024 Rolex price list and I’m sorry… but they can totally go suck it.

No way on gods earth is a no date sub worth £8200 compared to a Blancpain Bathyscaphe or GO SeaQ.

Madness.

People are getting $12k aftermarket, or a little more than £10k, so if anything they are still under pricing the market.

We can all point to models we like more, but the market speaks for itself. I’d be doing the same thing, if not even more aggressively.

·

I think they charge extra for removing the Cyclops.

The market is speaking for itself. It’s making the sounds of a death rattle lol.

If I make a widget for 8k and my clients are immediately selling it for 10k, I’m under pricing my widget, regardless.

The market, while softer than a year ago, is still strong relative to peers. I am confident just about every other brand would gladly swap their market place with them.

Charging extra for actually being able to get one next year lol

You’re missing my point though. For what it is, the finishing etc. It’s over priced. It was over priced before the price increase too.

Not missing the point at all. See my first comment, whether you or I like it, and whether there are superior watches for the money, the market strongly disagrees with you and in this case also Rolex. If it were me, I would have priced it another 2k. Why should any company let others profit of their product?

Obviously like anything it's worth what people are willing to pay but it will be a cold day in hell when I accept a Pokémon card is worth $10,000. If you look at things objectively ie profit margin it's hard to argue other manufacturers don't give you more for less.

Your only meant to shear the sheep not skin them.

Not disagreeing with the sentiment that there are not compelling products at that point, just the market itself. We’d all do the same thing if it were our business.

I can’t argue with you man. You have superb taste in watches.

I’m just salty as don’t wanna pay more than they are now haha

Thank you, I do my best, and really not trying to argue. I wouldn’t want to pay more either, but I think we’ll continue to see them raise prices to slow flippers down.

Nothing last forever. Tulips spring to mind.

You can get more watch for your money for sure but the no date sub remains incredibly desirable.

If you can get one at retail I think that price is reasonable or if not reasonable at least realistic!

I wouldn't buy the sub personally but I would have an explorer at retail without hesitation ( or an airking)....

Certainly true, but for over 30 years the Daytonas had a good run. As far as price predictions, I treat them like the stock market, that is there is a reason more than 75% of all money managers can’t beat the index.

·

Rolex is that latin for "ripp-off"? 😜

·

there you go using that term "worth it".

Nothing is worth it, yet... everything is worth it. I dunno, that makes sense in my brain which isn't saying much.

·

That isn’t that much of an increase, all things considered.

If I get one at list next year will you mail me the difference please as you don’t seem to mind? Pretty please? 😂🙌🤷‍♂️

I think I'm out of the Rolex market. I have a 39mm Explorer and a Black Ceramic GMT. I always thought a sub would be a good addition to the set (sea, air, and land). But it's not worth it now. The Black GMT is good enough.

·

I don't think it's over priced and I've owned all three of the models you mention. The Rolex at retail is still a bargain and the other two at grey (used or new) are also great bargains.

·

No luxury watch is "worth" it's price so it seems a bit silly trying to compare it to anything. They're all over priced and that's ok because we can live perfectly good lives without ever buying these items. Trying to compare this to GO or Blancpain just doesn't make sense. Those watches are utterly overpriced too if you consider them by themself. They only become "value for money" when compared to other luxury watches and I just don't see anyone buying a luxury watch just because it's better value than another watch (seems like a recipe for disappointment).

At the end of the day, when it comes to luxury watches, people pay over the top because they want it and they can.

·

It is worth it to anyone who wants a sub.

STOP making sense, you'll make Christopher Ward unhappy.

I would go SeaQ over Sub

Me too . Green or blue tho?

Remove the price from the equation. If you'll still go with Blancpain or GO, then you are right... Go suck it #rolex! But if you'll take the sub... 😉😆

That is tough, though I’m leaning blue.

Yes. Go suck it me! 😂

·

I actually have not seen that no date Sub in black... I've only seen green bezel derivatives/two tones in real life... would love to see that exactly black bezel no date sub #rolex 🤔
