I can trace it all the way back to when I was maybe 5-6. I met my much older 1st cousin who was in the Navy. He had on the first dive watch I'd ever seen and he let me sit there with him and spin the bezel. I was hooked and basically forced my mom to buy me a casio from the supermarket pharmacy about a year later. It's been a passion since then.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Casio F-87w
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
No real great story, but my skx is a sentimental favorite. It was my 3rd mechanical watch and my second seiko. I loved the design and look of a nice watch, but the SKX got me interested in history, legacy, and the internal, mechanical beauty of a watch.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Take your time and get a watch you really want and can comfortably afford. Don't get sucked in to too many impulse buys and wear and love what you've got. Watches are things...the owner gives it life.
