What’s your go-to outdoor watch?

Hey great folks of WatchCrunch! I went on a day hike with my wonderful girlfriend earlier today, and wore my Omega Seamaster 300M Pro as my watch. I’m generally wearing some form of G-Shock when I’m out hiking, but wanted to change it up a little bit.

What do you like to take out when you go on a hike? For me, I need the watch to be durable, legible, and have some way to run a timer. I generally prefer rubber or nylon for the strap when out in the field too, as they tend to work better with sunscreen, and (most) bug sprays.

So what’s your outdoor choice?

For outdoor work I have, honestly too, many options.

Love to see it! I’ve been thinking about grabbing a quartz SMP 300 myself.

It really depends. I did a 60 mile ride last week wearing my 1971 (6139) Seiko Speedtimer on a rubber strap. I’ll often hike with my Tudor black bay 36 or my Longines Hydroconquest. I always wear a G-Shock for mountain biking though, lots of dirt and heavy impacts.

13 years and still going strong here, granted it's just an issued Suunto, but they made good stuff.

  • That Annoying NCO everyone wants to punch, definitely

It's genuinely quite impressive how well the 2 match!

The menace in me really wants to press "deploy" and see what happens 😅

I usually throw on the Gshock 5610u and rock on.

Now I usually wear the Ranger.

For a long time I've been using the Summiteer too (black or sandstone):

Since sometimes I have to crawl between rocks, trees and bushes, I use natos with them.

·

I used to convince myself I needed a dive watch AND a field watch, but actually, I realise that a dive watch can do it all.

So I said goodbye to this beaut (and I regret it almost every day!)..

I like wearing my Tudor Pelagos 39...

·

Any G, I don't have to care about it and if something could kill it while it is on my wrist, there is a high probbability I'd be dead too.

Been good everywhere - mostly on rubber these days
